Anyone else hitting the start of training season during one of the hottest summers yet? 🙋‍♀️☀️

My run today was no joke. I seriously felt like I was going to melt into the ground!

Fact - I thought harder running more would make me faster.

It didn’t.

For years I focused on:
🏃 Miles
💧 Hydration
😴 Sleep

But I wasn’t paying enough attention to one thing…

Protein!!

I thought protein was for bodybuilders and I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Once I started consistently meeting my protein needs, I noticed:

✔️ Better recovery
✔️ More consistent energy
✔️ Less soreness
✔️ Better workouts
✔️ I actually felt stronger instead of just tired.

Training is what breaks your body down. Protein helps build it back up.

Whether you’re training for your first 5K or your tenth marathon, what happens after your workout matters just as much!

July 1st - the start of my birthday month! Today … a little reminder to take of yourself, listen to your body, rest, recharge, and never ever stop being you.

I didn’t kick today off with a run, I kicked it off with stillness. Something I don’t have in my life and something a crave. Here’s to finishing out 42 prioritizing me. 🥂
