Ed Austin Regional parkrun

Ed Austin Regional parkrun - Event number 204 - 11th July 2026:

A beautiful summer morning greeted us in the park today, as 71 people ran, jogged and walked the course on the Ed Austin Regional parkrun (EARp) 204th edition. There was no a specific celebration this week, but we all celebrated the joy of this weekly Saturday routine of running/walking together in this beautiful park.


We had only one visitor today, and what a honor ! Dan KUCH came all the way from Arizona to end up being First Finisher today with the impressive time of 17:32 !. In full honesty EARp was not Dan’s original plan – he intended to run the Bridge of Lions race in Saint Augustin, but when it sold out, he chose to come to EARp for his first run here. Dan, come back anytime !.

We welcomed TEN First Timers. WELCOME to all ! We hope you enjoyed your first EARp experience and you return soon!). We also had SIX Juniors in the course today - the future of parkrun ! No barkwalkers this week.

A special shoutout to Kim BARROWS, who once again brought frozen, delicious popsicles for everyone. Thank you, Kim!

As said, Dan KUCH was our Gents' First Finisher with a time of 17:32. Alyssa EISERT was the first in the Ladies' side with a time of 28:25 in her first parkrun, Outstanding !. Congratulations to them, as well as to the FOUR parkrunners who set new Personal Best times: Justin MEDRANO (3rd consecutive PBs in a row in his 4 parkrun participations !) , John FAULKNER, Yaleni MELENDRES and Andrew BASDEN. Congratulations !!!

The female record is held by Avery HARTLEY who recorded a time of 17:56 on 16th March 2024 (event number 81).

The Age Grade course record is held by Avery HARTLEY who recorded 89.03% (17:56) on 16th March 2024 (event number 81).

Ed Austin Regional parkrun started on 17th September 2022. Since then 1,832 participants have completed 9,573 parkruns covering a total distance of 47,865 km, including 1,549 new Personal Bests. A total of 190 individuals have volunteered 2,662 times.

Ed Austin Regional parkrun - Event number 203 - 4th July 2026:

It was a warm and sunny morning in the park Saturday morning, as today 77 people ran, jogged and walked the course on our EARp “4th of July – Independence Day” edition, celebrating the 250th anniversary of our nation. Special mention to 78-year young Veteran Robert GOGGIN who carried Old Glory for the entire course. Thank you for your service, sir !

No Tourists today, however we had again with us Oscar SAMIOS and Emily SHAPIRO from Australia. Good to see you soon !. We had ELEVEN First Timers. WELCOME to all ! We hope you will join us again!. We had EIGHT Juniors and one barkwalker – Bryan WESTBROOK.
It was Bryan WESTBROOK 's 25th parkrun today. Congratulations for the Milestone ! Kim BARROWS once more brought FROZEN popsicles for us. (Thank Kim, so refreshing !).

Carter KIRK was our Gents' First Finisher with a time of 22:00 (his fourth time doing so at EARp), followed by Emily MYERS. Emily was the first in the Ladies' side with a time of 22:43 in her first parkrun, Outstanding !. Congratulations to them, as well as to the FIVE parkrunners who set new Personal Best times: Justin MEDRANO, Timothy BURLING, Ward SHAE, Megan OLAH and Talley MINCEY. Congratulations !!!
