This student became very upset during her survival skills testing while wearing her winter clothes. ❤️
As instructors, we have to be willing to pivot, adapt, and meet our students where they are—especially when emotions and new skills become overwhelming.
We know she loves her baby dolls, so we invited her favorite doll to “take the test” with her. 🧸 Once she felt comfortable and confident, we slowly took the doll out of the equation and showed her that she could do it all by herself!
And she did! 💪🏼💦
This is why individualized, one-on-one instruction is so important. Sometimes success isn’t about pushing harder—it’s about finding the right approach, building trust, and giving a student the confidence to believe in themselves.
Adapt the lesson. Follow the student. Celebrate the progress. 💚
