JACKSON APPROVES NEW WCSC GYMNASTICS FACILITY; GRAND OPENING SET FOR OCTOBER 5

JACKSON, Wis. — September 8, 2026 — Jackson, get ready to flip, tumble, climb and have a whole lot of fun! WCSC Gymnastics is officially coming to town after the Jackson Village Board approved occupancy for Washington County Sports Center, Inc.’s new facility at W208N16900 N. Center Street. The grand opening is set for October 5, 2026.

The new WCSC home will offer fun, welcoming programs for children and families, including gymnastics, ninja, fitness, movement classes, open gyms, toddler programs, homeschool fitness, birthday parties and special workshops.

Whether a child is taking a first forward roll, mastering a new skill, navigating a ninja obstacle or simply burning off some extra energy, WCSC Gymnastics will provide a positive place to move, learn and grow.

“This is an incredibly exciting moment for WCSC,” said Jack Anderson, Executive Director of Washington County Sports Center, Inc. “We are thrilled to call Jackson home and can’t wait to welcome families into this new space. We are grateful to the Village of Jackson, our board, coaches, families, volunteers and everyone who helped make this next chapter possible.”

A Fun New Home for WCSC

The approximately 2,800-square-foot, two-story facility will feature multiple training areas, including a high-ceiling area for regulation-size gymnastics equipment. The facility will also include air conditioning, two restrooms, a parent waiting area and dedicated space for WCSC’s growing programs.

With smaller class sizes — generally around 10 children per class — WCSC coaches can provide personal attention while helping children build strength, confidence, coordination, friendships and leadership skills.

At WCSC, progress may look like a perfect cartwheel, a brave first attempt, a high-five from a coach or a child proudly saying, “Watch this!” Every milestone matters.

“Our goal is to create more than a place to take a class,” Anderson said. “We want kids to feel excited to walk through the door, proud of what they accomplish and connected to the WCSC community.”

Getting Ready to Open

WCSC will now begin preparing the facility for its athletes and families. Upcoming work includes painting, setting up equipment, completing technology and security improvements, and moving in safety mats and other training equipment.

There will be plenty to do before opening day — floors to prepare, equipment to assemble, walls to brighten and probably a few more cartwheels than usual along the way.

The organization plans to open its doors on October 5, 2026, and looks forward to celebrating with the Jackson community.

Washington County Sports Center will continue operating current programming during the transition.

📰💜 WCSC GYMNASTICS & OUR PROPOSED JACKSON HOME — LET’S TALK ABOUT PARKING & COMMUNITY

Recently, parking concerns regarding Washington County Sports Center’s d/b/a WCSC Gymnastics proposed new location in Jackson were featured on TMJ4 News.

We completely understand why residents and neighboring businesses would have questions about a new organization coming into their community.

And that’s exactly why we want you to get to know us — and understand how our small club actually operates.

💜 WCSC is not a large-scale gymnastics facility.

We are a small, grassroots nonprofit organization with a simple goal: to create a place where children and families feel like they belong.

Our proposed Jackson home is only approximately 2,800 square feet, spread across two stories. Our programs are intentionally designed around small groups — generally about 10 children in a class at a time, with approximately a 5-to-1 child-to-instructor ratio.

That’s important to us.

We want our coaches to know every child’s name. We want to celebrate the little victories. We want parents to get to know one another. We want children to build friendships, confidence and a sense of belonging.

💜 We want WCSC to feel like a community within the community.

🚗 So, what about parking?

The proposed facility currently has a 17-space parking lot, which we believe will accommodate the traffic flow created by our small class sizes and controlled scheduling.

One important part of our operation that may not be immediately obvious is that all WCSC classes, programs, parties and special events are pre-registered. We do not operate on a drop-in basis.

That means we know in advance how many children and families are scheduled to be at the facility.

Classes are scheduled in designated time blocks and generally limited to approximately 10 children at a time. Our goal is to carefully manage scheduling so families arrive and leave in an organized manner rather than creating large, unexpected surges of traffic.

Operating seven days a week actually helps us accomplish that. Instead of concentrating families into only a few busy evenings, we can spread classes and programs throughout the week and maintain the smaller groups that are central to our mission.

Our primary programs will serve children approximately ages 2–12, and we also hope to expand opportunities during daytime hours through homeschool fitness programs.

🏠📚 Homeschool Fitness Opportunities

One opportunity we’re especially excited about is creating daytime fitness and physical education options for local homeschool families.

These programs can give homeschool children a structured, welcoming environment to stay active, learn gymnastics and fitness skills, build confidence and develop friendships with other children in the community.

Offering homeschool programs during daytime hours also helps spread facility use and traffic throughout the day rather than concentrating everything during traditional after-school hours.

🌟 And we want to serve more than just athletes.

We hope this location will allow us to create adaptive learning opportunities, homeschool fitness programs, special community events, and relationships with organizations such as Special Olympics and others who share our desire to make sure more children have an opportunity to participate.

This location would become WCSC Gymnastics, one part of the larger Washington County Sports Center nonprofit mission.

As WCSC grows, our long-term vision is to potentially establish other small locations dedicated to different sports and activities — creating more opportunities for children while maintaining the personal, community-centered atmosphere that is so important to us.

We aren’t coming to Jackson looking to overwhelm a neighborhood.

We want to become part of it.

We want to support Jackson businesses.
We want to participate in community events.
We want to know our neighbors.
We want local families to walk through our doors and feel welcomed.

And most importantly, we want the children who come through WCSC to learn that being part of a community means supporting one another, including others and giving back.

We know we’re the new kids on the block. 😊

There may be questions along the way, and that’s okay. We welcome the opportunity to introduce ourselves, listen to our neighbors and show the community what WCSC is really about.

We’re not trying to build the biggest gym.

As we continue preparing for our possible new home in Jackson, we’re looking for parents, families, friends, local businesses, and community members who would like to help us make this next chapter possible!

WCSC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization, and making this move happen is going to take a TEAM. Whether you can volunteer your time, provide a service, sponsor part of our facility, donate an item, share an idea, or simply help spread awareness — every contribution makes a difference!

One of the hardest parts of this transition will be getting all of our equipment into the new facility. Our gymnastics equipment is currently spread between two storage facilities AND our existing club, so this is going to be a BIG move!

We definitely need a moving truck and plenty of helping hands to get everything loaded, transported, unloaded and into our new home.

Businesses, organizations, families and individuals will have opportunities to sponsor a room, an area of the facility, or specific gymnastics equipment.

This could include sponsoring our spring floor — which we are still fundraising for and making payments on — gymnastics equipment, training areas, parent areas and other parts of our new facility.

Depending on the sponsorship, supporters can receive sponsor recognition and signage within the facility. It’s a great opportunity to support a local nonprofit while helping us create something special for kids in our community!

📣 ARE WE MOVING?! HERE’S THE SCOOP! 🤸‍♀️💜

We’ve had A LOT of people asking lately…

“Is Washington County Sports Center moving?”

Well… it’s time to put the rumors to rest! 👀

🏠 YES — WE FOUND A POSSIBLE NEW HOME!

You may have seen the recent article in the Daily News. WCSC has found a potential new location in Jackson, conveniently located just off Hwy 45 & Hwy 60 on Center Street at W208-N16900 N. Center St.

And we have some EXCITING NEWS! 🎉

Earlier this month, we attended the Village of Jackson Plan Commission meeting, where our conditional use and site plan review received UNANIMOUS APPROVAL to move forward! 🙌💜

That means…

🚦 WE’RE HALFWAY THERE!

There is still one more important approval ahead, but things are looking very positive — and we are incredibly excited about what this could mean for WCSC!

🤸‍♀️🥷 WHAT WOULD OUR OWN HOME MEAN?

For the past couple of years, WCSC has been sharing a facility. We are extremely grateful for the space that helped us grow, but having a facility of our very own would open the door to so many new opportunities!

If everything receives final approval, we could:

⭐ Offer MORE gymnastics classes
🥷 Expand our Ninja programs
🏆 Grow our competitive & developmental gymnastics teams
👶 Add more opportunities for our youngest athletes
🏃 Introduce additional fitness & youth development programs
🎉 Offer birthday parties, special events, open gyms, camps & more
💜 Create a truly kid-friendly space designed around our programs

🏢 AND SOME BIG FACILITY UPGRADES!

This potential new home would also give our athletes and families some things we’ve been hoping for:

🚗 An actual paved parking lot for our families
❄️ AIR CONDITIONING! Yes… air conditioning! 🙌
🚻 Two restrooms
🛋️ A better, more comfortable parent waiting area
⬆️ HIGH CEILINGS!

And those high ceilings are a BIG DEAL for us! 🤸‍♀️

We currently have gymnastics equipment and apparatus in storage that we simply haven’t been able to fully utilize because of the limitations of our current space.

With higher ceilings and more appropriate training areas, we could finally bring out and use more of our gymnastics apparatus and equipment — giving our athletes an even better training experience! 🎉

🏡 WE WOULD FINALLY HAVE A PLACE TO CALL OUR OWN!

No more setting up around another organization. No more sharing schedules and space. We would have the opportunity to create a fun, colorful and welcoming environment specifically for our athletes, coaches and families! 💜

📅 IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR OUR CURRENT FAMILIES

Nothing is changing immediately!

Even if we receive final approval, we plan to continue operating and holding classes at our current facility through the end of September and possibly into October while we prepare the new space.

Our goal is to make the transition as smooth as possible. We’ll provide plenty of communication before any official move takes place.

Our next step is the Jackson Village Board.

If we receive their final approval, we can begin turning this possibility into reality and start preparing the future home of WCSC Gymnastics! 🤸‍♀️🥷
