Congratulations to Genevieve, one of our Mercer Tour regulars!
Great shot, Ace!

Parma Western's Genevieve Davis hit the shot of a lifetime on Monday (9/14) in an I-8 League event at Marywood GC in Battle Creek!
She aced the 98-yard fourth hole with her 9-iron!
Genevieve did not see it disappear into the hole, and upon reaching the green assumed it had rolled off the back. Spectators, however, told her to check the hole. She was both surprised and shocked!
Coached by Teresa Nagy, Genevieve shot 106.

We are thrilled to announce the inaugural male recipient of our Dave Gilpin Player of the Year Award!
Brayden Norton, a senior at Jackson High School, is our first honoree based on points earned during the summer Tour season. Brayden played in eight events, winning two events with three other top 3 finishes, shooting a season-best 72 at Sharp Park GC.
Brayden will be honored and receive his award at the Jackson Golf Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Sept. 20 at Sharp Park GC.
He is the son of Adam and Amanda Norton.

We are thrilled to announce the inaugural female recipient of our Dave Gilpin Player of the Year Award!
Leighton Diesing, a senior at Chelsea High School, is our first honoree based on points earned during the summer Tour season. Leighton played in six events, winning three 18-hole events, shooting a season-best 80 at Arbor Hills GC.
She is the daughter of Mitzi and James Diesing.
Leighton will be honored and receive her award at the Jackson Golf Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Sept. 20 at Sharp Park GC.

Good luck to our young golfers trading in their golf bags for book bags this week! Hopefully, it won't take long to get back into the swing of school and acing quizzes.
Note: Birdie Dances in the classroom are perfectly acceptable after nailing math or vocab quizzes.

Mallory Gilson is the final Female Player of the Week for our 2026 season!
Mallory used our Tour events as preparation for the fall high school girls golf season. A senior leader at Michigan Center High School, Mallory seamlessly moved from Mercer Tour events right into the high school season, last week earning a top 10 medal at the Hanover-Horton Invitational at Arbor Hills GC and was medalist at the season-opening Cascades Conference Jamboree at Clark Lake GC, shooting a 46. When she's not in the classroom or working on her swing, you'll find her working the food concessions counter at Sharp Park GC.
Congratulations, Mallory! Good luck with your fall high school season.

Chase Paszkiet is our final Male Player of the Week for 2026!
Chase played in all our events this summer, and improved every time out. He never earned a medal in his age division, but displayed a great work ethic and attitude every week demonstrating the perseverance and resilience the game requires.

The RW Mercer Jackson Junior Golf Tour was well-represented on Friday (8/21/26) at the Drive, Chip and Putt Sub-Regional Qualifier at Kalamazoo Country Club.
Baker Maska captured the top spot in the boys age 10-11 division!
Little sister Collins Maska (a future Mercer Tour player) was a top-10 finisher in the girls 7-9 division, as was Rowan Fish in the boys 10-11 division.
Baker will advance to the Regional Qualifier next month at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, IN. Much to the chagrin of his dad, there is no parent/child scramble planned for the event at Crooked Stick.
Great job, kids!

Our final event of the summer was a great success! The season-ending Adult/Junior Scramble at the Country Club of Jackson provided some really fun moments for our Tour families.
