Most people show up to the gym with years of poor posture, limited movement, and low activity levels that have already robbed them of range of motion and the ability to handle real-life positions.
Specialty lifts like the ones shown above aren’t magic—they’re simply tools we introduce once the athletes foundation is solid. Consistency and proper preparation cycles matter far more than any single exercise. Even kettlebells or dumbbells can build highly capable athletes, but many coaches lack the experience to program them effectively for the general population.
At CFI we stay focused on what our members actually need day to day: picking up kids, carrying groceries, and handling house projects without waking up wrecked. We use a science-based, constantly varied approach (drawing from Louie Simmons and Westside methods) that builds foundational strength first, then challenges the body in slightly awkward positions with lighter loads and strict attention to form and safety. The goal is never to create professional athletes—it’s to prepare everyday people with jobs, families, and real responsibilities so life doesn’t break them.
