What better way to celebrate National Teddy Bear Day than with a little bear from Peru?!

Our first Movie Day was all about Paddington! When the kids arrived, they got right to work on a scavenger hunt, searching the library for jars of hidden marmalade. A few kids even brought their own teddy bears along for the afternoon!

We read Paddington by Michael Bond and learned a little about where Paddington came from and how Michael Bond came up with the idea for the beloved bear. Then we got crafty and made our very own Paddington hats out of newspaper!

After that, it was movie time! We watched Paddington while enjoying marmalade sandwiches and Teddy Grahams.

Our next Movie Day is October 14th!

Once a month, on the first early out Wednesday of the IKM-Manning School district, the Lied Irwin Public Library will be putting on a Movie Day!

However, it will be more than just a movie! Each movie will have a book that we read beforehand. There will also be themed snacks and activities to go along with the movie as well.

Public school kids have to contact the school in order to ride the bus to the library.
This is not just for public school kids; home school kids are welcome too!

Kids must be picked up by 5pm!
