The Triathlon Club at UC Irvine welcomes student athletes in the multisport styl The national men’s champion was also from our team.
Based in sunny Orange County, the Triathlon Club at UCI was established in 2005. Our organization is a relatively young on-campus club sport at the University of California, Irvine boasting a membership of 40 plus undergraduate and graduate students competing at both the recreational as well as the competitive level. A short but stunning history will reveal that the Triathlon Club at UC Irvine is
home to a host of accomplishments. At our first USAT Collegiate National Championships in 2012, one of the most competitive Olympic distance triathlons in this country, our men's team enjoyed a 6th place finish (second among California schools). Previously in our own conference, the Triathlon Club at UC Irvine consistently placed 5th overall out of 13 plus schools; first among the clubs with less than 50 members. We host the annual Zot Trot Sprint Triathlon which serves as not only our annual fundraiser to subsidize our clubs expenses but also as a race in the West Coast Collegiate Triathlon Conference series in which primarily collegiate (not limited to) athletes participate. Using the funds generated, we subsidize travel and lodging expenditures to races up and down the California coast as well as to Collegiate Triathlon Nationals which was held last year in Tempe, Arizona and previously Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Our team is open to current UCI students of all athletic abilities. Membership is for UCI students that are interested in working out and/or competing with other students. Our members start from a variety of fitness levels. If you enjoy getting outdoors and being active then you’ve come to the right place. You can join our amazing organization by following these simple steps:
1. Every participant must complete and sign a Club Sport Registration / Waiver of Liability form at the ARC prior to participation.
2. Come to practice and meet the rest of the team. You can come to a few practices before deciding if you really want to join.
3. Get connected by joining our mailing list to stay up to date on team practices and workouts sent out by other team members.
4. Pay team dues of $150/year. This fee covers various costs that the team incurs throughout the year, and entitles you to any sponsorship benefits the team will be receiving during the year. Visit our website at: www.ucitriathlon.org
