There’s been a lot of conversation surrounding New Pioneer Gun Club lately, and much of what we’ve seen and heard doesn’t tell the full story of how this facility is being used.
One piece we feel has been missing from that conversation is the significant role youth shooting sports play at New Pioneer.
Warren County Shooting Sports joined I-35 Shooting Sports and the Indianola Youth Trap Team in releasing this statement because we felt it was important for that side of the story to be heard too.
For our organizations, this is about the kids — having safe, structured places to practice and compete and making sure the opportunities New Pioneer provides youth athletes are part of the conversation.

Today, I‑35 Shooting Sports, Warren County Shooting Sports, and the Indianola Youth Trap Team released a joint statement addressing recent public commentary and media coverage about New Pioneer Gun Club.
Youth athletes represent a significant portion of the facility’s use, and our organizations felt it was important to share the full picture of how local kids benefit from access to this range.
