The Y: We're for Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility We’re a gym, but we’re not just a gym. Above all, we’re about community.

We’re a charity, but we’re not just a charity. We’re about families, but we’re also about singles, college students, new couples and empty-nesters.

Our community is coming together to support neighbors impacted by recent flooding. Through September 4, we’re collecting new, unopened household cleaning supplies like laundry detergent, dish soap, disinfecting wipes, trash bags, paper towels and more. Bring your donations to the collection area at the front of your YMCA. Every donation, big or small, can help a family take the next step toward recovery.

Strong communities are built by people who keep showing up for one another.

Saturday, YMCA of Greater Indianpolis staff Gregg Hiland, Justin Blackstone, Brian Shelley and Chris Tolliver joined neighbors, local leaders and community organizations for the Far Eastside Peace Walk.

The work toward a safer, stronger far eastside is led every day by people who live, serve and care for this community. We’re grateful to stand alongside them. It connects deeply with what we work toward at the YMCA: helping young people thrive, strengthening families and creating places where more people can belong and build connections.

Last year, over 1,000 volunteers gave nearly 12,000 hours of their time to support their community through the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis. From sports coaches to advisory board members to event volunteers and more, volunteers make an impact every day in the Y and in the community.

Thank you to each and every Y volunteer and please help us celebrate the volunteers of the year!
