When the War Changed You | Jacob: Healing Your Identity | Post-War Recovery Week 3

What do you do when you survive the battle—but you don’t come out the same?

In Week 3 of POST-WAR RECOVERY, Pastor A. Thomas Hill takes us into Genesis 32–33 and the life-changing encounter of Jacob in:

WHEN THE WAR CHANGED YOU — Jacob: Healing Your Identity

Jacob entered the night carrying his history, fear, failures, and old identity. He wrestled with God, received a new name, and walked away differently.

Sometimes recovery isn’t about getting back to the person you were before the battle. Sometimes the better question is:

“God, who am I becoming because of what I’ve been through?”

This week, discover four movements toward healing your identity:

ADMIT → WRESTLE → RECEIVE → WALK

ADMIT — I’m not unchanged.
WRESTLE — I will stay with God through the difficult questions.
RECEIVE — I will accept what God says about who I am.
WALK — I will move forward differently because I’ve encountered Him.

Your wound is not your name.
Your failure is not your name.
Your rejection is not your name.
Your past does not get the final word.

The battle may have changed you—but God gets the final word concerning who you become.

📖 Primary Text: Genesis 32–33
🔑 Key Verse: Genesis 32:28
