Been a rough time from July on and while somethings have been seen to there is no clear end in sight for others.

This includes several trips to the ER for wife and partner Jody Ross./Audrey Adelicia. Not life threatening but long term painful.

I had an EMS encounter while at Pennsic for a potentially dangerous infection.

We are making gains on getting goods out. We thank you for your patience.

Five days until we place the first order for the Pennsic Battle throw on the 13th of July.

The more sales we have now the larger our order can be to meet our sales obligations to all of you wonderful people and to have stock at Pennsic.

Don’t worry if the paychecks don’t line up with that order date! We will still be taking orders through the 22nd at the Early Bird price of $100.00 plus shipping. After that the in person and online sales price will be $125.00 (plus the shipping). Those orders will help us do Pennsic and get a second order going after Pennsic.

We are inspired at the interest shown in this and we are grateful to you for your support. We do want to make more tapestries in the manner of notable ones from the Middle Ages and art from cultures without a tapestry tradition. We feel this is a good beginning to a new endeavor.

There was a great deal of personal satisfaction creating this piece. Sitting down with a copy of David Wilson's book "The Bayeux Tapestry" to study the styles and motifs of the original, making notes on colors and things I wanted to include in the tapestry was the beginning. Sketches came next, working out proportions and composition, framing the action with a border and crafting the Latin inscription for "Here Two Kings Test Their Milites" . Soon I had a cartoon that matched the aesthetic of the Bayeux.

By My Hand Designs released this 20+ years ago and it was quite the boost to my artistic ego to see people gob-stopped when they first saw it. Many would say that they recognized that scene, they knew they had seen it somewhere in the real Bayeux Tapestry. And we would explain that it was actually a whole new scene just done in the manner of the famous (and copyright protected!) tapestry. I have always thought that the highest goal for an artist in re-enactment is to make something that would meet the aesthetics of a time and place but be an original creation and not a copy. I think this design meets that ideal.

We are making it available again now for people to enjoy and for a limited time you can order one of the first ones to be made in almost two decades for $100.00. Normal price is $125.00.
