Rivi takes on open water! 🏊♀️🌙
Rivi swimmers Sophie Spataro and Clara Haley traded lane lines for open water this weekend, completing the Swim to the Moon 5K in Michigan alongside fellow Riviera Club members and mom-daughter duo Laura and Noa Calili.
The group swam 3.1 miles through a chain of five lakes — their second year taking on the challenge together.
We love seeing Rivi swimmers — and Riviera Club members — taking their love of the water beyond the pool. Congratulations to Sophie, Clara, Noa and Laura on an awesome 5K! ❤️🖤

Swimming may be an individual sport, but it’s never a solo journey. ❤️🖤
Claire Hacker is Rivi’s lone 10 & Under swimmer competing at Summer Divisionals, but she wasn’t alone on deck.
Teammate Bob Schmieman was supposed to be racing too, but a broken bone sidelined him. Instead of staying home, Bob showed up to cheer Claire on every step of the way.
And there was plenty to celebrate.
🔥 Claire dropped an incredible 11.6 seconds from her 100 Free personal best.
💥 She added another personal best in the 50 Back.
🏊 She also kicked off the weekend with a strong swim in the 200 Free on Friday.
Those hard-earned improvements are even sweeter when you have a teammate there to celebrate them with you.
Congratulations, Claire! And Bob, thank you for showing us what being a great teammate looks like.
