π± SHOUTOUT TO THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS! π¦π
A huge thank you to our Horizon landscaping team for the incredible care they continue to pour into our campus, our athletic fields, and most importantly, our student-athletes.
What they do goes far beyond cutting grass and maintaining fields. They take pride in this campus and understand that caring for what God has given us is an act of stewardship. Every time our Lions step onto a field that looks this good, there are people behind the scenes who worked hard to make it happen.
We are incredibly blessed by a team that consistently goes above and beyond for Horizon.
Thereβs simply nobody better.
Thank you for being great stewards of Godβs creation and for taking such great care of our Lions! π±π¦

FAITH FIRST. ALWAYS. βοΈπ¦
Wins matter. Championships matter. Competing at a high level matters.
But none of those things are the ultimate measure of what weβre building at Horizon.
Our coaches have an opportunity that goes far beyond teaching a serve, a jump shot, or how to finish in front of goal. They get to invest in young people, model Christ, build relationships, and help shape who our student-athletes become long after their playing days are over.
If we win a bunch of games but miss that opportunity, we missed the point.
Athletics is the platform.
Christ is the foundation.
Thatβs the standard for Horizon Athletics. π’π‘

β½οΈ CLUTCH FROM IKER CABANAS. π¦
Down 3β2 with just three minutes remaining, the Lions earned a free kick and needed somebody to step up.
Iker Cabanas answered the call.
He stepped over the ball and absolutely crushed it into the back of the net to pull HZN level at 3β3 and complete the comeback in Bloomington.
Big moment. Big response. Big-time finish.
Thatβs what competing until the final whistle looks like.

β½οΈ FINAL FROM BLOOMINGTON π¦
What a fight from our Varsity Lions tonight.
HZN battled Seven Oaks to a 3β3 draw after a back-and-forth match that tested this group from start to finish.
The Lions took a 2β1 lead into halftime behind a penalty kick from Chris Servin and a goal from Henry Richards. Seven Oaks answered in the second half and eventually put HZN behind 3β2.
But the Lions kept battling.
With just three minutes remaining, HZN earned a free kick and Iker Cabanas stepped up and crushed it into the back of the net to bring the match level at 3β3.
That response says a lot about this team.
Horizon competed tonight without three of our senior captains, who are away on their senior camping trip β spending time growing closer to Christ, growing together as a class, and preparing for the new journeys ahead of them.
Down three senior captains and down a goal late, this group found a way to step up for one another.
After a busy stretch of soccer, the Lions now get some much-needed rest this weekend. The entire Horizon family is proud of the way this team continues to compete, grow, and represent HZN.
The draw moves the Lions to 3-0-2 on the season.

β½οΈ HALFTIME IN BLOOMINGTON π¦
The Varsity Lions took a 2β1 lead into the half against Seven Oaks!
π₯ Chris Servin converted from the penalty spot to get HZN on the board.
π₯ Henry Richards added another to give the Lions the advantage.
Itβs been a physical half with some tough officiating decisions going against us, but the Lions havenβt allowed it to become a distraction. Control what we can control. Keep competing. Keep playing our game.
45 minutes down. Time to finish it. ππ
