2026 TURTLE KRAWL SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT: SLUG-A-BUG!

We’re excited to welcome Slug-A-Bug back to the Turtle Krawl 5K as a returning Loggerhead Sponsor!

Sea turtles may spend most of their lives in the ocean, but that doesn’t mean they travel alone. Their shells can become home to all kinds of tiny hitchhikers—barnacles, crabs, shrimp, algae, bryozoans, oysters, bristle worms, brittle stars, and more!

A few hitchhikers are normal, but a sick or debilitated sea turtle may become heavily covered with them. When one of these turtles strands on our beaches, Sea Turtle Preservation Society volunteers help get it into the hands of permitted wildlife professionals who can provide the specialized care it needs.

The safety of our volunteers is our top priority, and with the potential for storms, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone this evening’s cleanup.

Check In: Check in on social media from the beach you select for your clean up for a chance to win prizes!

Join STPS in Brevard County for a county-wide beach cleanup in recognition of the 25th Annual Turtle Krawl 5K!

The mission is simple: cover as many Brevard County beaches as possible and remove as much trash as we can in one hour!

Bring your own clean-up supplies and come ready to clear our beaches of harmful trash and debris.

Check in on social media from the beach where you clean up. We will randomly draw names during the 6:30 7:30 hour on 8/4 from those who check in.

Our “Beach Sweep Prize-Mobile” will be making the rounds delivering prizes - Special Edition Anniversary Medals - RIGHT TO YOU AT YOUR BEACH!
