Committed Retrievers

We has a blast at the Waterfowlers of Idaho fundraiser event! We are still in Boise for one more day and still ha e a couple of puppies left. Get a hold of us to have a look at these excellent new additions to your family.

We had a blast at the Idaho Youth Outdoors day. This is such a great organization. We love to try to do our part to share our passion with the younger generations.

I would like to thank everyone that has reached out to us about the loss of Trip via Facebook, calls, text and emails over the last week. Your stories and pictures of your Trip pups have really made me realize what a huge impact Trip had on so many people.

Tribute to Trip:

I waited on list for 3 years to get Trip. When he came home with us, we had 4 month old twins at home. He was great with them from day one. I started his basics in training and had just begun force fetch when we sent Trip up to my good friend Nick Bowser. He trained and molded Trip into a hunting machine. Working him on hundred of pheasant as a guide dog. He did an amazing job with Trip. As Trip grew he became my main waterfowl dog and excelled at it. Trip had an incredible nose. He found the birds that other dogs failed to find. He ran such straight lines. He was an incredible athlete, strong and powerful. He had no quit in him. He was quiet at the line and in the blind. He didn’t break and was honest in how he retrieved. Trip worked for whoever lined him up and gave that person 100%. He loved to ride shotgun in the truck and in the ranger. He made me laugh with the goofy looks he gave me with his head tilted to one side. I could write a book about the funny things he would do. One of his greatest qualities was his off switch. He would hunt as hard as any dog, but when the hunt ended, he was a calm, loving dog that just wanted to hang out with us. Trip sired a lot of litters and those pups have a lot of his same amazing qualities. His legacy lives on through them.
I feel fortunate to have had Trip in my life and a part of our family, there is a void at the house and around the kennel. I feel lucky to have spent the time I did with that amazing dog!

We lost a pivotal team member of the Committed Retriever family. Trip lost his battle with a spinal injury he obtained on our last hunting trip this season. Trip was the definition of man's best friend. He loved to retrieve, but even more he loved to work for his handlers. This little dog had so much personality and loved to please. This is dog that would bust through a thorn bush to find your bird then be more than content to snuggle up at you feet after the hunt. Trip made friends with everyone that was privileged to hunt with him. He would always let you know he was close by with a gentle paw on your leg or his chin on your knee. There are many pieces of Trip on the puppies that many of you now have. Give them extra love and an extra treat tonight. Trip we look forward to the days when we can explore the great hunting grounds beyond the rainbow bridge with you. Rest easy friend.
