Amie and I just had fun in this video in San Francisco a couple of years ago
I thought I would post this fun video. We have fun together.

Joe's Rebuttal: There's a Reason I Drive That Way 😂✈️**

Yesterday, Amie told you I have three driving speeds:

🚗 Washington, D.C. driving
🐢 84-year-old mother driving
✈️ And now... driving to the airport.

Well, I think there's a VERY good reason for that third speed. 😂

Because somehow, when we're finally at the airport and they're calling our names to board the plane...

Amie is usually walking AWAY from the gate looking for a restroom. 😂

So maybe the problem isn't how Joe drives TO the airport.

Maybe it's what happens AFTER we get there. 🤔😂

Apparently Joe Has 3 Driving Speeds 😂

According to Amie, Joe used to have only **two driving speeds**:

🚗 **Washington, D.C. driving** Get out of the way. We're going somewhere.

🐢 **84-year-old mother driving** We've got nowhere to be... apparently.

But Amie has officially added a third:

✈️ **Driving to the airport.**

Marriage gives you plenty of time to notice the little things about each other and apparently Amie has been keeping track of Joe's driving habits.

Joe, however, has a slightly different version of this story.

One of the Things I Admire Most About Amie ❤️

Amie is one of the most loving, committed, and determined people I know.

But one of the things I admire most about her is that she tries to do what she believes is right, even when there is pressure to cave, even when it would be easier to just go along, and even when standing for the truth requires sacrifice.

She loves our children deeply. She fights for the people she loves. And when something really matters, she doesn't give up easily.

Character isn't just what we say we believe. It's what we choose when doing the right thing comes with a cost.

In marriage and family life, knowing your spouse will stand beside you, love your family, and remain committed to what they believe is right creates a kind of trust that's hard to put into words.

That's Amie, and those qualities are a big part of why I love and admire her so much. ❤️

Obviously no one is perfect and neither of us are but Amie always does her best. We hope in the long run that this is what will matter.

**I Try to Be a Gentleman… Amie Tests my Abilities 😂❤️**

I always try to open the door for Amie. But when there are **two doors in a row**, somehow she always zigs when I expect her to zag—and suddenly it's a race trying to get to the right door first. 😂

It's one of those little things that is just **so Amie**.

**What:** The little personality quirks that make our spouses different from us can become some of the things we love most about them.

**Why:** Marriage isn't about finding someone who does everything exactly the way we expect. Sometimes it's those unexpected little moments that make life together fun—and remind us why we fell in love in the first place.

Her personality doesn't drive me crazy. **It drives me to love her even more. ❤️**

**We Definitely Don't See Rules the Same Way 😂**

Amie was nervous the whole time and convinced we were somewhere we weren't supposed to be.

Joe's philosophy? **Act like we're supposed to be there, and we'll probably be okay.** 😂

Same experience. Two VERY different reactions.

Marriage is funny that way. You can love each other, have the same goals, and still see the exact same situation completely differently.

One of the things I appreciate most about Amie is her **honesty**.

In a marriage—and especially in a blended family—honesty matters. **What:** being able to trust that your spouse will tell you the truth, even when the truth isn't always easy. **Why:** because trust creates security, and that security gives a marriage a stronger foundation when family life gets complicated.

After everything we've experienced together, knowing I can trust Amie means more to me than I can put into words.

One of the biggest changes in my relationship with our children happened after I became a Certified Life Coach.

It wasn't because I had better answers.

It was because I became a better listener.

Over time, several of our children have actually commented that they've noticed the difference.

People are far more likely to open up when they feel genuinely heard.

I've found that listening well builds trust, strengthens relationships, and helps create a home where people actually want to communicate.
