Idaho Athlete Project and USA Explosion Softball are incredibly proud to announce that the head of our program, Billy Butler, is joining the Idaho State University Softball staff as its new hitting coach!

Billy’s knowledge, experience, and passion for developing athletes have made an incredible impact on our players and our program. We are so excited to watch him bring that same energy and expertise to the Bengals!

Congratulations, Coach Billy! We couldn’t be prouder of you and can’t wait to see what’s ahead!

This group is loaded with talent, experience, and competitors who are ready to represent USA Explosion at the highest level. With five college-committed athletes already on the roster and a strong group of 2027s and 2028s right there with them, we’re excited to see what this team can accomplish.

🥎 Our 2026-2027 season is getting ready to ramp up after an incredible year for USA Explosion! Our national teams are coming off one of the most successful seasons in program history, highlighted by a Triple Crown World Series Gold Championship and a third-place finish by our two 18U teams, along with outstanding performances at some of the nation’s premier events. We also saw tremendous success throughout our entire program, with our 16U, 14U, 12U, and 10U teams winning league championships, tournament titles, and consistently competing at a high level all season long. We continued our tradition of helping athletes reach the next level, with 34 college commitments in just the last four graduating classes. Our commitment to player development, team culture, and providing opportunities for athletes at every age continues to be the foundation of everything we do.
🥎 Tryouts begin this week and continue into next week! If you can’t make one of our scheduled tryout dates, don’t worry—we’re happy to arrange a private tryout that fits your schedule. Be sure to check out the flyer for all the dates, times, age groups, and locations, and scan the QR code or use the registration link to pre-register for tryouts.

34 College Commitments. Four Graduating Classes. One Mission. 🩵💗🥎

Since the Class of 2023, USA Explosion Softball has helped 34 student-athletes continue their softball careers at the collegiate level.

From Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA, and Junior College, our athletes have earned opportunities through years of hard work, player development, exposure, and strong relationships with college coaches.

And the momentum continues…

The Class of 2027 has already produced 4 Division I commitments—with more to come.

We’re incredibly proud of every athlete and family who has trusted our program and committed to the process. Your success is what drives us.

Many of you have been asking about tryout information and we will be releasing that shortly! This year tryouts will be held in Idaho Falls, Pocatello and Boise after our National Championship season concludes. We believe our athletes and coaches deserve to stay fully focused on competing at the highest level before turning our attention to building next year’s teams.
