This week we would like to give a shoutout to Zach Wassynger, longtime Huntsville climbing community member and Competition Team Coach.

Zach is known within our community as one of the strongest climbers and boasts a strong pedigree of competitive indoor climbing. When he isn’t busy training he can always be found helping others improve in their own rights.

On the weekends Zach can be found pursuing his true love within the sport: rope climbing on endless moderate pitches at any of the nearby crags. Don’t be fooled when you hear him talk about having no endurance. This guy is an ARCing machine and will do anything he can to maximize his time on rock.

Starting NEXT WEEK, High Point - Mid City will begin hosting several 5-day camp sessions. Camps are a great way to introduce rock climbing to Huntsville’s youth in a structured, high-energy setting.

The festivities will begin at 4pm! We will have tie-dye stations, challenges with some prize support, crate stacking, pizza, and beverages! Bring your friends and family, and let’s celebrate the anniversary of the facility that brings us all together in so many ways!

🧗 This past weekend the High Point Huntsville Competition Team had their best Regionals Team performance ever! 🧗‍♀️ Everyone on the team had opportunities to showcase their skills, hard work, and determination. We are very proud of each one of them for putting it all out there and representing our climbing community so well!

I am also proud to announce that we had 9 team kids successfully qualify for Divisionals in Boulder and 7 kids successfully qualify for Divisionals in Ropes!

Huge shoutout to & who also had amazing showings of their respective Competition Teams in the same event. They have outstanding programs as well, and it was amazing for all the programs to come together and represent High Point as a whole! We will see you all again at Divisionals!

High Point - Huntsville is SUPER proud to announce that we qualified 26 of our athletes for Regionals in Bouldering AND 21 of our athletes for Regionals in Ropes!

Our athletes have been putting in the work this year, and it’s amazing when these efforts yield tangible results! Regionals is only a couple weeks away (March 14th & 15th), and it will be hosted at this year. If you see any of our athletes at practice please feel free to show them your support and wish them words of encouragement!

Thank you to everyone who came out to compete, hang out, support one another, and even assist in the quick scoring turnaround in this year’s Zero Gravity Competition at High Point - Lincoln Mill! This was our most attended competition yet, and we absolutely look forward to building on this success moving forward! Here are the official results of each category. Now let’s get back to training so we can be ready for the next event!
