We built it because we were tired of choosing between a boat hook that fit in the locker and one that could actually pull a line. Now we don't have to choose.

What time do you usually wake up on the boat?

The right gear on a boat isn't the most expensive gear. It's the gear you'll actually reach for when you need it.

For us, that meant building a boat hook we'd use ten times a day instead of once a season. Compact enough to keep within arm's reach. Strong enough to trust with a line. Ready in the second it takes to unroll it.
