Congratulations to Columbia High School Football as they are this week's first Bryant Bank Team of the Week for their season-opening win over Greensboro.

Last night, the Eagles notched their second win of the season, downing East Limestone 42-26 for their first 2-0 Start since 2009.

Talkin Ball's Scott Theisen and Drew DeArmond stopped by practice this week, along with Steuart Evans from Bryant Bank presented the Eagles with a well-deserved check for $500.

🏈 STREAK SNAPPED: Columbia High School has ended the nation’s longest high school football losing streak with a 41-14 win over Greensboro.

After starting the game trailing 14-0, the Eagles scored 41 unanswered points to kick off the season with a win. Under the leadership of second-year head coach Sammie Coates, the victory snapped a 101 game losing streak and marked Columbia's first win since October 16, 2015 on the road at Ardmore.

Grit, heart, and belief carried these student athletes and coaches, and tonight they rewrote the story. Tonight, the Eagles rise!

We are incredibly grateful to Senator Arthur Orr for his generous $25,000 donation to support the students of Williams Middle School Athletics and Williams Elementary!

HCS Athletics would like to send our condolences to the family of Chapman Middle School Principal Donny Peavy. She was a Champion for her Chapman students and the HCS family. HCS has suffered a TREMENDOUS loss.

She will truly be missed.
