National Parks and Recreation Month - The Power of Connection
Connection happens in countless ways through Parks and Recreation.
It starts with a morning walk that turns strangers into friends. It grows through laughter and play as children and families gather for free community programs. And it strengthens as we bring residents, local organizations, and community partners together to create opportunities that make Huntersville feel like home.
Every park, program, and event is an opportunity to build relationships, create memories, and strengthen our community.
This July, we're celebrating The Power of Connection and the people, places, and experiences that bring us together.

📸 Image 2: Just Kidding Around – Connecting children and families through free interactive theater, games, and the joy of play.
📸 Image 3: Community Engagement – Building partnerships that connect residents with programs, parks, events, and the organizations that help our community thrive.
July is National Parks and Recreation Month! 🌳🎉
This year's theme, "The Power Of...", celebrates the many ways parks and recreation bring our community together through play, nature, belonging, wellness, and the dedicated people who make these experiences possible.
Huntersville has long been dedicated to youth volleyball programming. We offer leagues, clinics and camps year round! Our volleyball programming perfectly captures the power of play, the power of community and the power of partnerships! Thank you to William A. Hough High School for your long time support of our summer volleyball camps!
We still have space in our July camps and our fall leagues. Don't miss out!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Veterans Park for Just Kidding Around!
We had a wonderful morning with The Fun Factory by Sigmon Theatrical and loved seeing so many families enjoying the show together. A special thank you to Dekki’s Ice Cream for the sweet treat that helped make the event even more fun.
We appreciate everyone who came out and spent the morning with us. We can’t wait to see you at our next Huntersville Parks & Recreation event!
👏 A big shoutout to our Park Operations Team! 👏
Thank you for the incredible work you do maintaining our 41 athletic fields. With heavy, year-round use, the summer maintenance window is short, but our crew makes every day count to get the fields ready for the next season.
Their hard work, dedication, and attention to detail help provide safe, high-quality fields for thousands of athletes, families, and visitors throughout the year.
If you see one of our Park Operations team members out in the parks, be sure to thank them for all they do! ⚾🥎⚽🏈🥍🌱

Take inspiration from Mabel and touch some grass at Richard Barry Park on July 10 while you watch this hilarious family-friendly movie.
If you don't want to actually touch the grass while you watch the movie, bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket.
The movie will start at dusk. Arrive early to enjoy games, raffles, and free popcorn.
Movies in the Park is sponsored by WSIC News Talk and Community and Novant Health.
