This Sunday, August 16, Humble Skate is turning its public skating session into a full family experience and fundraiser for the Texas Speed Club complete with racing, meet-and-greets, skating demonstrations and one BIG showdown.

🌎 Jumbo Acosta - 12-TIME WORLD CHAMPION from Colombia

And here’s what makes the race even more interesting:

🔥 Emerson is a long-distance skater.

⚡ Jumbo is a sprinter.

So we’re getting two completely different world-class skating styles on the SAME track.

Yeah… I need to see this. 😂

🛼 BUT THE WHOLE NIGHT ISN’T JUST ABOUT THE RACE!

The Texas Speed Club team, with skaters of different ages and skill levels, will hit the track and demonstrate drills so families can actually see what competitive speed skating is all about.

And apparently if you’re feeling a little too confident… 👀😂

YOU can challenge one of the speed skaters to a race and see what you’ve got.

Both will be available for photos and will be signing pictures during the event.

They’re also hoping to hold a 50/50 raffle during the evening. 🎟️

🇺🇸 AND THERE’S A BIGGER REASON BEHIND THIS EVENT.

Emerson has been competing since she was 5 years old and represented Team USA at the World Championships in China last year.

A portion of the evening’s proceeds will help support the Texas Speed Club and help Emerson get to Team USA tryouts Aug. 24–Sept. 2.

And if she earns her spot again?

She’ll head to Paraguay for the World Championships beginning Oct. 1, representing the United States at the highest level of the sport. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

So this isn’t just a fun night at the skating rink.

You’re getting to support a local athlete chasing another opportunity to represent our COUNTRY on the world stage.
