Today we had a multi-person appointment booked across several of our team members’ schedules.

They didn’t show up.
They didn’t call.
They didn’t answer the phone.

And because we allowed the appointment to be booked over the phone without securing it, multiple professionals were left with blocked schedules and no clients in their chairs.

So let’s talk about the part of running a service-based business that people don’t always see:

The business still has to pay payroll.

Our employees showed up. Their time was reserved. We turned away other opportunities to book those time slots. The lights are still on. Rent is still due. Payroll is still due.

The only person who didn’t hold up their end of the appointment was the person who booked it.

So moving forward, please do not ask us to reserve an appointment without a deposit or a valid card on file. It is no longer an option.

It’s not personal. It’s business—and more importantly, it’s mutual respect.

We respect your time by being prepared and ready when you arrive. We simply ask that you respect ours by showing up, communicating when plans change, and honoring the policies that protect our team.

To the overwhelming majority of our clients who consistently show up, communicate, and respect our time: THANK YOU. ❤️ We appreciate you more than you know.

And to my fellow service providers: stop feeling guilty about having policies that protect your business. You can’t pay payroll with an empty chair.

My client was dealing with a case of onycholysis and made the decision to remove the portion of the nail that was no longer attached to the nail bed.

For those who may not know, onycholysis is when the nail begins lifting from the nail bed, typically starting at the free edge and progressing toward the nail matrix.

But with a gala coming up, she still wanted to feel confident and polished for her special event — so we created a custom toenail prosthesis to restore the appearance of the nail while supporting her nail journey. 💅🏾✨
