As National Safety Month comes to an end, United Salt recognizes the fourth and final weekly theme established by the National Safety Council: Preventing Slips, Trips, and Falls.
Some of the most serious workplace injuries can come from everyday hazards that are easy to overlook.
Preventing slips, trips, and falls starts with slowing down, staying aware, and paying attention to changing conditions. Clear walkways, good housekeeping, proper footwear, effective communication, and evaluating hazards in the workplace all makes a difference. Especially in industrial and mining environments, staying vigilant matters.
Throughout National Safety Month, we’ve recognized the importance of awareness, roadway safety, worker wellbeing, and hazard prevention — but safety is not defined by a single week or a single month. It’s a responsibility carried into every shift, every task, and every decision, that happens every day of the year.
At United Salt, “Safety by Choice, Not by Chance” is a responsibility we embrace every day of the year.

The United Salt Baytown, LLC team recently came together at the Big Ass Crawfish Bash (yes, it’s really called that 😀 ) in Texas City, a community event that raises funds to support veterans, children, and individuals with disabilities.
Known for setting a Guinness World Record in 2017 by serving more than 58,000 pounds of crawfish in eight hours, the Big Ass Crawfish Bash has grown into much more than a community festival. For more than 12 years, the event has contributed over $627,000 to local causes, creating a meaningful impact throughout the community.
Our crew enjoyed a great day of food, music, and time together outside the workplace while supporting a cause that gives back to others.
Events like this are a reminder that strong teams are built through connection, shared experiences, and giving back to the communities we serve. We’re proud of the culture being built across United Salt and grateful to everyone who helped make the event a success.

Our World Cup Passport journey takes us to Morocco, where the Atlas Lions prepare for their second Group Stage match tomorrow against Scotland in Boston.
To celebrate, we’re featuring one of Morocco’s most beloved dishes: Chicken Tagine with Preserved Lemons.
Slow-cooked in a traditional clay tagine, this Moroccan classic combines tender chicken with fragrant spices, green olives, and preserved lemons that have been cured in salt for weeks or even months. The result is a dish that’s rich, savory, and bright with citrus flavor—a perfect balance of warmth, depth, and freshness. Every bite tells the story of a culinary tradition shaped by patience, craftsmanship, and one essential ingredient: salt.
Those preserved lemons are the star of the dish. Through the simple process of salt curing, ordinary lemons are transformed into a uniquely Moroccan ingredient prized for its intense flavor and aroma. It’s a delicious example of how salt doesn’t just preserve food—it creates entirely new flavors that become part of a nation’s identity.
From the kitchens of Marrakech to the World Cup stage in Boston, tomorrow’s match is another reminder that food and football have a unique way of bringing people together.
We’re wishing Morocco and its passionate supporters the very best as they continue their World Cup journey!

Our World Cup Passport journey continues today in Spain, as La Roja opens its World Cup campaign against Cabo Verde in Atlanta.
stop takes us to Spain, a nation where football excellence and culinary tradition have long gone hand in hand.
To celebrate, we’re featuring one of Spain’s most iconic culinary treasures: Jamón Serrano.
Crafted through a centuries-old process of salting, curing, and aging, Jamón Serrano transforms a simple cut of pork into something extraordinary. Thinly sliced and melt-in-your-mouth tender, it delivers a rich, savory flavor balanced by subtle sweetness and a delicate texture that has made it a staple of Spanish cuisine. Whether enjoyed on its own, paired with cheese, or served alongside crusty bread and olives, Jamón Serrano is a testament to the remarkable role salt plays in preserving food and creating unforgettable flavors.
The journey begins with salt, which draws out moisture and allows the ham to develop its distinctive character over months—and sometimes years—of careful aging. It’s a culinary tradition that has been passed down through generations and remains a source of pride throughout Spain.
