Obituary
Bradley "Brad" Lance Winters passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Brad was born on July 17, 1962, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Albuquerque and Roswell, New Mexico both held special places in his heart. There he built lifelong friendships and created countless memories. Although he spent his final months in Cedar Park, Texas, New Mexico was always home.
Brad loved racing, baseball, hot air ballooning, and photography. He was the official photographer for the Roswell Invaders baseball team and could often be found on the sidelines capturing memorable moments for local high school sports. For more than 20 years, he also volunteered at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, serving as both a judge and a launch director.
Professionally, Brad enjoyed a successful career with NAPA Auto Parts, where he specialized in installing computer systems. He took great pride in his work, his technical expertise, and the friendships he formed throughout his career.
Those who knew Brad will always remember his huge heart and generosity. He had a gift for making people smile and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
Brad is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Heard, and by Huey Heard, who raised him and was the father figure he knew throughout his life.
He is lovingly survived by his brother, Steve Winters, and sister-in-law, Kristi Winters, of Leander, Texas; his nephews Greggory Winters and wife, Morgan, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and their children, Asher, Aubreella, and Audrey; Austin Richardson and wife, Molly, of Newark, California; Kros Richardson and wife, Diana, of Austin, Texas; and Kash Winters of College Station, Texas. He also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and countless people whose lives were made brighter by his kindness and laughter.
Brad's legacy is one of compassion, quiet generosity, and genuine joy. His laughter, his kindness, and the love he shared with others will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. While he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the lives he touched will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Brad's Life will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Joe Bauman Stadium, home of the Roswell Invaders, in Roswell, New Mexico.
