French captain Kylian Mbappé did not hold back his heartbreak following France's disappointing 2-0 defeat to Spain in the 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-finals in Arlington, Texas. Mbappé, who had been one of the standout players of the tournament with 8 goals, admitted to feeling "immense disappointment" as his dream of a third consecutive World Cup final appearance came to an abrupt end.

Speaking candidly after the match, the 27-year-old superstar blamed tactical and technical blunders for the loss, admitting that *Les Bleus* did not know how to hurt Spain. "Technically, the first passes and first touches were not worthy of a World Cup semi-final," Mbappé stated after being completely neutralized by the Spanish defense, which limited him to just 15 touches in the first half. Now, Mbappé must wait another four years to chase his next global crown.

With India going on a record seven-match winless streak in T20Is, the BCCI has called for an official review meeting immediately after the upcoming ODI series to address the sudden cracks in the squad.

The iconic New Zealander admitted he is "gutted" by the decision but will continue his role as England’s white-ball coach.
