Kennedy Dance Theatre

A lot of parents ask us what a 2 to 4 year old is really going to get out of a dance class. And honestly, it’s a fair question.

They’re coming in to experience something new. They’re learning how to be part of a class. They’re learning to listen to a teacher, follow directions, take turns, move their bodies, and interact with other children.

But there’s something else that happens, too.

They start realizing that they can walk into a new environment, try something they’ve never done before, and have fun doing it.

Sometimes the first class is a little overwhelming. Sometimes they want Mom or Dad to stay close. And sometimes they walk in like they own the place. All of that is completely normal.

KDT offers classes beginning at age 2, with a free trial class for new students! Call our office or sign up on our website to get yours.

DON’T FORGET! Limited spots available for this amazing dancer/athlete workshop this Saturday the 29th from 2-3:30pm!

KDT is partnering with IMS Human Performance to provide a unique workshop not only for dancers but all athletes! Our very own Simona Di Nardo and Ivan Mascio will explore the science and practice of a dynamic warm-up, using strength and conditioning principles to teach how to progressively prepare the body for physical activity and performance that helps reduce the risk of injury.

This workshop is open to participants for only $30 as well as observers for only $15 for anyone interested in this research and education.

Our Open House event is September 12th from 11-3pm! Free dance classes, a bounce house, treats & eats, karaoke party, face painting, and MORE! Your family can come experience the studio, meet our instructors, explore our classes, and get a feel for the community your dancer could be part of this season.

We would like to welcome another one of our fabulous new instructors, KDT alumni Mallory Davy!

Mallory was a 3 year member of the Orange Pride Dance Team where she was able to learn from and train with Sarah Garcia in Jazz, Pom, and Hip Hop. Mallory won 4 NDA national championships during her time on the team. 2 titles in the D1 jazz and Team Performance divisions in 2023, and 2 titles in the D1A division for Team Performance in 2024 and 2025. Mallory worked for Trendsetters Dance, and was able to choreograph for various Drill Teams across the Houston area.

One of the biggest things we see dance give children has very little to do with dance.

It’s confidence. And I don’t mean just the confidence to get on a stage and perform.
We see them start speaking up. We see them walk into a room with their head held high because they know they have done something difficult before and figured it out. A child who used to stand in the back starts moving toward the front.

Those are the moments we really love. Because eventually, that confidence leaves the dance studio with them.

Dance is BACK! Fall classes start today at KDT!

We get to watch dancers come in at the beginning of the season with new goals, new classes, sometimes new nerves, and a whole lot of excitement. Then, little by little, they settle in, make friends, get comfortable, and start finding their place.

That’s really what we hope every dancer finds here at KDT—not just a class, but a place where they feel comfortable being themselves, challenged to grow, and excited to come back each week.
