What an incredible start to an unforgettable week! 🥋🔥

Master Leão Teixeira has officially arrived in Texas, and we went straight to Youngsville, Louisiana, to visit my friend and the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu community there.

Two incredible days of training, an amazing seminar, and so many great moments on the mats. It was an honor to train, learn, and share Jiu-Jitsu together.

Now we’re heading back to Houston for a full week of training, seminars, private lessons, and activities with Master Leão.

With over 45 years of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experience, Mestre Leão Teixeira is an internationally respected instructor, mentor, and ambassador of the art. He trained extensively alongside members of the legendary Gracie family, learning directly from many of the pioneers who helped shape modern Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Throughout his career, he worked closely with Master Carlos Gracie Jr. during the formative years of Gracie Barra. He witnessed the growth of one of the world’s most influential Jiu-Jitsu organizations.

Before Brazil plays against Japan on Monday in Houston, FIFA came by Gracie Jiu Jitsu Houston and the place was alive! Professor Jackson Fortunato at Gracie Jiu Jitsu Houston recently had the privilege of training with Master Leão Teixeira, 8th Degree Coral Belt, founding member of Gracie Barra, and one of the most respected instructors in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, at the legendary Escola de Jiu-Jitsu Leão Teixeira in Rio de Janeiro.

From technical exchanges on the mat to sharing decades of knowledge and experience, the visit was a reminder that the journey of learning in Jiu Jitsu never ends.

The journey continues in Houston. Master Leão Teixeira will soon be joining us for a special seminar at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Houston. More details coming soon. Stay tuned!

After over 30 years together, Kenn and Dorothy, both Master Cycle® students at Gracie Jiu Jitsu Houston, are still finding new ways to grow. Martial arts have been a constant in their journey. Dorothy saw how Jiu Jitsu transformed Kenn’s mindset and confidence. Inspired, she tried it herself and quickly fell in love with the art. They’ve trained in Canada and France, and now they have the opportunity to share the mats once again, learning and growing together under Professor Jackson’s guidance. “Gracie Jiu Jitsu Houston is an incredible place to train, and we’re truly grateful to be part of this family.”
