🏆 For the first time in Parapan American Games history, the women’s Sitting Volleyball tournament will feature six teams, matching the men's competition.

🎟️ The men’s competition has one qualification spot still available. More information on how this final spot will be decided will be announced soon.

🏐 BRAZIL LEADS THE WAY FOR YOUTH

🇧🇷 Brazil hosted the first Youth Sitting Volleyball National Championship in the ParaVolley Pan America Zone.

🏆 The U23 championship in Porto Alegre brought together 12 teams and nearly 50 athletes aged 12 to 22. SESI Suzano-SP won gold in both categories; SESI-SP took silver in both, while Instituto Athlon-SP and ADFEGO-GO claimed women's and men's bronze, respectively.

🌎 An important example for the region of how creating more opportunities for young athletes can strengthen national programmes and build the future of sitting volleyball.

🕊️ IN MEMORY OF DIEGO LEONARDO VILLALBA

It is with deep sadness that ParaVolley Pan America mourns the passing of Argentine Sitting Volleyball athlete Diego Leonardo Villalba.

Diego was part of the generation of athletes that helped drive the international growth of Argentina's Sitting Volleyball program. He contributed to the team's preparation for the first ParaVolley America Cup and was part of a squad that earned the bronze medal at the 2025 SESC Para Cup and a fourth-place finish at the Zonal Championships in Denver, USA.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, teammates, the Argentine ParaVolley community and everyone whose lives he touched.

May he rest in peace.

Con profundo pesar, desde ParaVolley Pan America despedimos a Diego Leonardo Villalba, integrante de la selección argentina masculina de voleibol sentado.

Diego formó parte de una generación de jugadores que impulsó el crecimiento internacional del paravoleibol argentino. Integró el proceso de preparación hacia la primera Copa América de ParaVolley y fue parte de un plantel que alcanzó la medalla de bronce en la Paracopa SESC 2025 y el cuarto puesto en el Zonal Americano disputado en Denver, Estados Unidos.

Acompañamos en este difícil momento a su familia, seres queridos, compañeros de equipo y a toda la comunidad del paravoleibol argentino.
