Big emotions with a little extra spice today—and that’s okay.
This girly is more than capable of swimming independently, but after some time away, we needed a quick refresh from 2025. Progress isn’t always linear, and confidence isn’t built on the easy days. It’s built when things feel hard and we choose to keep going anyway.
Watch her work through the emotions, trust the process, and push through class. That’s where confidence grows and real progress happens.

When introducing your child to new experiences, making them feel included can make all the difference.
Today, my little friend showed up with his swim bag full of his favorite toys, so we made them part of our lesson. What may look like simple play is actually helping build trust, comfort, and confidence in a new environment.
One of the biggest wins today was how calm he was during water pours over his head. A skill that once felt uncomfortable is already becoming more familiar. He is getting more comfortable in the water, opening up more each class, and engaging with me in ways he wasn’t before.
Progress isn’t always measured by a new swim skill. Sometimes it’s measured by a calmer reaction, a little more trust, and a child feeling safe enough to have fun.
Super excited to see what he accomplishes next class.

Did you know even our most confident swimmers have off days too?
Some parents might look at a day like today and think, “Let’s call it.” Instead, we worked through it. We made a deal, and he stuck to it.
Not every lesson is going to be your swimmer’s best day, and that’s okay. Sometimes kids are simply having a tough day. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s showing up, doing the work, and moving forward anyway.
Today wasn’t his best day, but he still got the job done. That’s a win in my book.

The first class back wasn’t his favorite, but today he walked in ready.
We accomplished so much. He’s back to floating independently, his confidence is growing, and we’re working toward becoming Safety Test Ready so we can move on to more advanced skills.
Progress isn’t always linear. Some days are harder than others, but what matters is showing up and trying again.
The best part? Grandma was waiting at the end of class, ready to shower him with love, excitement, and praise for all his hard work. Those moments help build confidence just as much as the skills we teach.
Way to go, buddy! More progress coming soon.

To truly pass our Safety Test, a swimmer has to perform every skill with their parents—not just with their coach. Parents are the ones with their kids outside of lessons, so these skills need to transfer beyond class time.
This swimmer is brand new to our program, no prior lessons before joining us. She's comfortable going down the slide with coach support. With a parent, it was a different story—big emotions, right away. We stayed with it. Worked through every uncomfortable second.
In 9 classes, she passed her Safety Test.
Progress isn't always quiet. Sometimes it's tears, hesitation, and a kid who keeps going anyway.

She knew exactly what was expected of her today—and she did it anyway.
Seated entry. Unexpected falls and tosses, one from her coach, one from Mommy.
Every time she hit the water, something showed—a cry, a kick, resistance. Every time, she rolled to her back on her own and floated there.
When it was over, Mommy was there with a hug.

Every pool is different. When we travel to a swimmer’s home, we don’t just teach swimming — we teach safety specific to that environment. We assess the setup and adjust the program to match it.
Today’s focus: learning to navigate and exit her own pool, by herself.
She did it. Confidently, on the first try.
That’s the skill that matters when no one’s watching.

Every class comes with challenges. Today's came at the start — she told us exactly what she didn't want to do.
So we talked it through. Set expectations. Made a plan together.
At Raynboe Swan, that's a progression moment, not a setback. Confidence isn't built in the easy moments. It's built here.
She pushed through. Finished stronger than she started.
2 high-fives later, she walked out taller than she walked in.

He’s preparing for his safety test. Yes, it’s challenging for him. Yes, he’s uncomfortable. He feels it, talks through it, and does it. It may not look like a successful day to you, but progress isn’t always measured by smiles. Today was about working through big emotions, facing challenges, and pushing forward anyway. Every tear, every attempt, every small win. All part of the process.
Parents, I know it’s hard to watch your child cry. It gets easier when you go through the process alongside them and trust your coaches to guide them through those hard moments. Confidence isn’t built in comfort. It’s built in discomfort. What comes out the other side is stronger.
One lesson at a time, we’re building a safer, stronger, more confident swimmer.

He’s confident in the water. Already past his safety test. Right now we’re building something harder: independence.
Today he had opinions. Big ones. He tested every boundary he could find and told us exactly what he wasn’t doing.
We did it anyway.
That’s the part people miss. Progress doesn’t always look like smiles and perfect participation. Sometimes it looks like a kid who didn’t want to be there, doing the work anyway — because showing up beats feeling like it, every time.
He didn’t quit. Neither did we.
