What's the pointe?
There are many reasons to consider ballet for your child. One of many is confidence, "a feeling of trust and firm belief in yourself or others".
It starts with our pre-ballet students learning to come into the dance studio on their own and builds from there. With each new skill learned and each performance accomplished, our dancers' confidence grows. Our staff is caring and nurturing and strikes a good balance between encouragement and discipline for further growth.

We jumped right into our 33rd season during the heat of Houston's late summer on August 10.
The studio is on fire this year!
Our student retention rate is extremely high and we have new students visiting and joining our program each day. We provide a nurturing and friendly atmosphere while holding to a serious ballet curriculum. We welcome you to come visit us! Our students are ages 3-adult.

Summer Intensive Level 7 Modern dance class with Ms Rachel!
This group was determined to get a photo in the mix. Fun as had by taking this screenshot, video, selfie! Because dance is fun!
Especially in Modern dance defined as a broad style of concert dance that emerged in the early 20th century as a rebellion against the rigid, codified rules of classical ballet. It prioritizes raw emotional expression, natural human movement, the use of breath, and often utilizes the floor to embrace gravity rather than defy it.
We still LOVE our classical ballet - but Modern dance gives our dancers a broader view of movement!

Let's strike a Modern pose!
Summer Intensive Level 6 enjoyed their time in Modern dance with Ms Rachel Chouinard!
Some key characteristics of Modern dance are
Use of Gravity: Dancers focus heavily on "fall and recovery" and suspending their weight, often working close to the floor.
Expressive Torso: Movement initiates from the core, utilizing contractions, releases, and curves in the spine.
Bare Feet: To establish a more natural connection to the stage and earth.
