Do you eat chia seeds?
Health isn't something you can quit because you're always participating.
You're either contributing to your health or taking away from it, but there is no quitting because you HAVE to eat.
You HAVE to put food in your body so you're ALWAYS on a health journey.
The only question is, which option are you choosing?
One of my nutrition clients recently told me she was going to quit and that was probably our last session.
She said she wasn’t motivated anymore, she was tired of planning meals, had regained some weight, and felt like old habits were taking over again.
But after talking through things a little more, we realized something important...
It wasn’t really about the food.
She had been dealing with emotional stress and never connected it to the changes in her eating habits.
The second life gets overwhelming, people think they’ve failed and start questioning whether they should give up altogether.
But life is going to life.
Too often, decisions are made based on temporary situations. A bad couple of weeks doesn’t cancel out all the progress you’ve already made.
Progress rarely happens in a straight line, and LIFE is going to happen. And, most times, your food habits follow. Sometimes you’re stressed, frustrated, lonely, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained.
You will not always feel motivated.
If you’ve been struggling lately, this is your reminder not to let a rough season convince you to give up on yourself.
Stress is going to happen. Old habits will try to creep back in.
You just need to adjust the goal, refocus on what you CAN control, and keep moving forward. 💪🏾❤️

What do you typically eat on Friday nights?
Do you cook? Eat leftovers? Grab takeout? Go out to eat?
Or just stare into the fridge hoping food magically appears? 😄
Let me know in the comments!

A couple months ago, I caught myself thinking…
“I just need to get back on track with my workouts.”
But if I’m being honest?
It wasn’t my workouts that were off.
I was tired. Mentally. Emotionally. Spiritually.
And that’s the part we don’t talk about enough.
We’ve been conditioned to think health = body.
Weight. Inches. Calories.
But what good is a “snatched” body if you’re stressed, exhausted, and running on E? 😬
So, I planned a week-long vacation where I largely just slept, ate, and watched seasons 1 and 2 of the show Paradise (highly recommend if you’re looking for something to watch… it’s on Hulu).
I disconnected from my phone, ignored calls and texts, and mostly stayed off social media.
I just wanted time to myself to rest and reset.
As I spent SIXTEEN hours watching tv on the couch, my mind went through mental gymnastics, guilt tripping that I needed to be “more productive.” 😤
I mean, I spent sixteen hours watching TV! Shouldn’t I have been spending those hours doing ANYTHING else??
The question is why?
Why do we feel the need to fill our days with “productivity?”
Were we born to work? Does every minute need to be stuffed with “things to do?”
Sometimes, you need a moment to turn your mind OFF, toss the to-do list, and fully REST.
We just completed the first four months of the year, and if you have not planned for some time off, even if you are just sitting at home on the couch (nothing wrong with a staycation), it’s time to schedule it!
You were not created to be all work and no REST.
I know you’ve heard that stress can kill you (yeah, I took it there).
Soooo, I need you to open up your calendar and plan your next break.
Either YOU can choose when to get some rest, or your body will choose for you, but it’s typically more pleasant when YOU choose. 😊
Living with purpose means you stop chasing a look and start paying attention to how you’re actually living.
It’s about how you intentionally show up in your life every day.
So, sometimes, instead of asking, “What do I need to fix?”
Ask yourself, "What do I need?”
