When people picture self-defense, they usually imagine intense, aggressive conflict. But real capability looks remarkably calm.

​High-level defense isn't about being tough or relying on raw athleticism. It’s a humbling, quiet discipline that teaches you how to stay composed when the pressure is on.

​Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu relies on leverage, positioning, and mechanical advantage so you can protect yourself without having to rely on force.

​You learn to breathe through discomfort, solve problems on the ground, and build genuine defense capability, all in a safe, supportive environment with training partners who are learning right alongside you.

We can't remove every hard moment from kids' lives.

But we can give them a place to practice facing hard things.

At Vanguard Defense, every class gives kids a chance to struggle, reset, listen, adapt, and try again.

They learn that losing doesn't make them weak.

Last night, our very own Coach Chad Wilson earned one of the highest honors in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Black Belt

His dedication, hard work, leadership, and character inspire every member of our team.
