Abilities Unlimited is a center based program that serves persons with disabilities. Our nonprofit organization established in 1961 to train and seek employment opportunities for those we serve. We offer prevocational services including Work Activity Program, Adult Development Program, School to Work Program, and a job training program through Arkansas Rehabiltation Services. Referral sources include Arkansas Rehabilitation Services, Developmental Disabilities Services and local schools. We also offer support and follow-up services to those trainees that are placed on jobs. A large percentage of our funding is generated through our contacts with industry. We make every effort to bring jobs and equipment into our organization that can teach and duplicate skills found in local industries and businesses. This job match better prepares our trainees for competitive employment. Some of the jobs presently performed are assembly, packaging, quality assurance, material handler, equipment operator, retail sales, rag sales, and janitorial maintenance and life skills classes.

Abilities Unlimited of Hot Springs is seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Thrift Store Manager to lead daily operations at our thrift store.

This position oversees store staff, customer service, merchandising, donations, scheduling, training, and day-to-day operations while helping create a positive and productive work environment. Our thrift store also plays an important role in supporting AUI’s programs and services for adults with developmental disabilities.
Ideal candidates will have retail experience, supervisory experience, strong leadership skills, and a heart for serving others.

We are so excited to introduce a special new space designed to support individuals who may experience sensory sensitivities, overstimulation, or simply need a quiet place to reset. 🌈

Our Sensory Room provides a calm, comfortable and welcoming environment where individuals can take a break, relax, regulate, and enjoy sensory activities when they need a little time to recharge. 🫧✨

At AUI, we understand that everyone experiences the world a little differently, and sometimes having the right space at the right moment can make all the difference. 💙
