Here are my 4 simple steps to get a par 🔽

Don't we wish it was this easy? Hit a good drive, wedge on, 2 putt for par. Practicing how you want to play. Getting into the mindset of success. That's what I was doing today. This round was a part of my fig round. A way to mentally prepare myself for success.

I don't usually play like this. I'm generally closer to a bogey golfer. If I hit a great shot, there is a real risk my next shot is going to be a miss hit. So how do we combat that? You take a few attempts to make sure that you hit a good shot. Train yourself that after a good shot, you can hit another, and then another, and another.

After a while of doing that, the miss hits after good hits start going away. You gain the confidence that the good seing you just had wasn't luck. It was because you're good at golf, you've practiced, and you can make the shot.

Which drive are you taking?

I made some space between me and the group behind me and didn't want to push the group in front, so I thought I'd hit two drives on this hole. See if I could repeat a good shot. I think I did pretty good.

Have you broken 80?

Today I shot a 79 while playing a modified version of a Fig Jam. Do I count it as officially breaking 80? No. Does it make me more confident that I have the ability to break 80? Yes. That's what matters.

90% of golf is played between your ears and having the confidence to play well is one of the biggest battles golfers face.

Go play a Fig Jam round and tag me, let me know how it wen, and if you're going to try it again.

This was easy.

After already thinking about a new golf bag that ad made this an easy choice. kvv has an amazing 5 way golf bag. Perfect for the golfer that's always ready for a round. A valuables pouch, cooler, large and medium storage, plus a clip spot means everything you need is easily available.

Would you play a Fig Jam round?

I watched an interview that did with the where he talked about not chasing the bad shots.

Basically when you practice, treat the practice like you're in a modified 3-ball scramble. Hit it until you hit a good one. Prove to yourself that you can play well. Then when you're actually playing you'll be used to playing well. That way when you have a good hole, you expect it and don't have a blow up on the next hole because you're pushing.

How do you handle slow play?

Today I had a situation where I was playing as a single. In front of me I had a th*****me that would not let me play through. Behind me I had a foursome on every tee box waiting for me to hit.

What would be the right move here?

If you need me I'll be on the chipping and putting greens ⛳

It's time to get back to basics and tear down the chipping and putting. Let me know what your favorite drills are and I'll try them out because whatever I'm doing isn't working.
