Back in the 1980’s when I fished (🥲) we had great success with a certain skirt pattern (Yamash*ta) that got discontinued. 🤬🤬🤬
A few years ago I worked with Blue Ocean Manufacturing and Charlie helped me duplicate it.
Recently I’ve started making a few lureheads with “blacks and blues” and thought that that skirt would match really well.
I contacted Charlie and worked with him on “updating” it as the original just had silver glitter on the black with blue bars skirt.
We are UPDATED, and ready to DO SOME DAMAGE! 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

Follow-up on Capt. Keith and the crew of the “Sweet Sensation” from Maui who competed at the just ended 2026 Westside Ahi Tournament.
Yesterday (Day One) they went all day and didn’t get one bite. I took my Mom to church and asked God to help them.
He said “WHO ARE YOU?” as it’s been a while, then he said he’d “see what he can do”. 🙄
This morning they went 44 miles towards Kauai and found them!
This afternoon he texted me saying he lost 2 ahi on my icy blue slant…….yet caught 5!
I went down to Waianae Boat Harbor this afternoon and as any luremaker would asked him “did any of my lures contribute today?” And he said “all of them on your lures!” 😇😇😇
Last year he got 3rd place on day 2 on a BR slant and as I write this was in 2nd place on day 2.
Next year, we’re going for 1st place! With the guy upstairs help! 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

Just got some custom shell
veneer sheets from Aqua Blue Maui.
Scotty and Dee started Aqua Blue Maui around 30 years ago and I became a customer since the beginning when I met Scotty at a “New Products Show”, bought a sheet to “try” and broke it as I left his booth. 🙄🙄🙄🤣🤣🤣
He smiled and REPLACED the sheet with a new one (even though it was my fault) and our relationship has continued all these years.
When I say “custom” shell sheets, you’re only limited by your imagination, and boy does mine go “off” sometimes. 😉
