We are so excited to get back on the mats! Here’s everything you need to know before registering.
🔗 REGISTRATION — AGES 5+
For wrestlers ages 5+, please use the Katana registration link below.
Once you open the registration form, scroll all the way to the bottom. There you’ll find step-by-step instructions along with the hyperlinks you need to complete your USA Wrestling registration and finish the Katana registration process.
🚨 REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE OCTOBER 14TH OR WHEN WE REACH 40 WRESTLERS, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST.
Last season we had 32 wrestlers on the mat, so if your athlete plans to wrestle with us this season, don’t wait to register!
When filling out your registration form and selecting your child’s shirt size, PLEASE SIZE UP! 👕⬆️
Our shirts may shrink slightly after washing, so sizing up will allow for shrinkage and give your athlete a little extra room.
⭐ FOUR-YEAR-OLDS ⭐
This is our FIRST year accepting 4-year-olds! 🎉
We will have ONLY 6 spots available for this age group.
Four-year-olds DO NOT need to register through USA Wrestling as we will not have them compete this year. They only need to complete the Katana registration and pay the $150 season fee.
They also DO NOT need a singlet deposit check.
📅 SEASON & PRACTICE
Season: November 2- March
State Series : March 11–13, 2027, for those who qualify
Practices:
Ages 6+: Mondays & Thursdays, 5:30–7:30 PM
Age 4 & 5: Mondays & Thursdays, 5:30–6:30 PM
👨👩👧 PARENT POLICY
For athletes ages 4–5 and athletes with disabilities, one parent must remain present for the entire practice.
For everyone else, our policy is DROP & GO!
💰 FEES & SINGLET DEPOSIT
Season fee: $150
Athletes ages 5+ will also need a pre-dated $70 singlet deposit check, dated March 1, 2027.
Deposit checks will be collected at our parent meeting. These checks will only be deposited if you do not return your singlet at the end of the season.
📋 MANDATORY PARENT MEETING
📅 October 5th at 6:00 PM
📍 Highland High School Commons
The parent meeting is MANDATORY, so please plan to attend and bring your athlete if possible.
We’ll cover dress code, expectations, season information, tournaments, and everything you need to know going into the season. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet our coaches and ask questions.
🧑🏫 INTERESTED IN A COACHES CARD?
We don’t automatically approve coaches cards for everyone. If you’re interested, please talk with Coach Noah.
You do not have to coach on the mat or attend every practice. We simply want coaches to be familiar faces our athletes know by face, name and voice.
When they’re on the mat, we want them to know exactly who is in their corner cheering them on.
That connection is a huge part of what makes Katana successful, and it’s something we intentionally protect.
💳 PAYMENT & FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
We are not offering payment plans this year, and fees must be paid before participating.
However, if your family is experiencing financial hardship, please reach out to us privately.
We will NEVER allow a child to miss out on wrestling because of financial strain.
