Rapids Swim Team

Rapids Swim Team The Rapids are a year-round swim team, offering programs for swimmers ages 5 to 18. We have a phenomenal coaching staff and a superior parents’ organization.

Our mission is to develop champion athletes and citizens through commitment to excellence in swimming. The Rapids Swim Team was established in 2005 by combining the Shelton Seals Swim Team and the Monroe Gators Swim Team. The Rapids are a widely respected team for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. We offer programs for swimmers who have just learned to swim through college age. The Rapids Swim Team offers swimmers the opportunity to develop personal potential through swimming. Our mission is to be a competitive swim program in the community, providing lifetime skills to its members including physical, intellectual and emotional development. Through swimming, members learn the values of sportsmanship and teamwork. Our goal is to develop character, skills, and the desire necessary to achieve each individual's potential. Our philosophy of motivation and determination prepares swimmers to face challenges in life and teaches strength of character.

Everyone swims for a different reason but the end goal is still the same: to raise money, support and awareness for cancer patients and their families. We are so proud of our extended Rapids family for contributing $40,000 to this amazing organization!

We are so impressed with our 5 Rapids swimmers that competed and represented at the Eastern Zone Long Course Age Group Championships in Virginia this past weekend! 👏🏻👏🏻

▪️We had Brady place 8th overall in the 50 BR, while also getting a PR in the 100 BR and 50 FR. He was also a key part of the 400 Medley Relay and the 200 Medley Relay.

▪️We had Hayden got 2 PRs in the 50 BR and 100 BR. He was also part of the 200 Medley Relay.

▪️We had Matteo who swam 7 events throughout the weekend including 50 BR, 50 FLY, 100 BR, 200 BR, 50 FR, 200 Freelay, and 400 Freelay.

▪️We had Nora who swam the 50 BK, 200 Freelay, and 400 Medley Relay.

▪️And last but certainly not least, we had Addison who swam the 100 FLY (2x at Prelims and Finals), 50 FLY, and 400 Medley Relay.
