Denali Horseback Tours

Tried a new hard thing and took three of my chubby ponies to an endurance race last weekend. They were slow as expected, but they surprised us by finishing over an hour faster than anticipated! Most importantly, they all vetted out “fit to continue” 🥰

While these mares definitely aren’t built for speed, they are excellent at taking Denali’s visitors on leisurely trail rides into the Alaskan backcountry 🐴

Fall is my favorite time of year 🍂🐎🍂

Looks like the heat wave is over and autumn has started. The tundra ponies appreciate the cooler temperatures 😊

It's only the middle of August but look at all these golden leaves on the ground!

It's been really hot this week so staying hydrated is important 😁

We have been having the best riding weather but I'm seeing more and more yellow leaves 🍃🍂

We had a perfect riding day yesterday 🌞🐎🌞

Yesterday was a very windy day but our ponies are used to it, and there were no mosquitoes 😁

We do regular "tune-up rides" and practice on obstacles around the barn as well as on the trail (have you tried straddling a pole, backing up a horse uphill or mounting from a log? 😁)
