šŸ•Šļø Sunday Message
Bible Verse: Genesis 17:5

ā€œNo longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.ā€

Tonight’s message comes from the story of Abram, who later became Abraham.

Abram had already been following God, but God had made him an incredible promise. He told Abram that he would become the father of many nations.

The difficult part was that Abram and his wife Sarah were already very old and had no children.

From Abram’s perspective, the promise seemed impossible.

But God saw something Abram could not yet see.

Then God changed his name.

Abram became Abraham.

God gave him a new name connected to the person and purpose God had promised for him.

I think there is a powerful lesson here for all of us.

Sometimes we only see who we are right now.

Maybe we see our weaknesses.

Maybe we see our failures.

Maybe we see where we’re out of shape, where we’re struggling, or where we still need to improve.

But God sees more than who we are today.

He sees who we can become.

In fitness, we often walk into the gym as one person and, through time and consistency, become someone stronger.

You might not be able to lift that weight today.

You might not be able to run that distance today.

You might not be where you want to be today.

But that doesn’t mean your story is finished.

Abraham had to trust God before he saw the promise fulfilled.

Sometimes we also have to trust the process before we see the results.

So tonight, don’t let your current situation define your future.

Keep showing up.

Keep doing the work.

Keep trusting God.

And remember… you are not limited to who you are today. God may be preparing you for who you are becoming.

Some people help you when it is convenient. And then there are the people who become part of the foundation.

I want to take a moment to thank Coach John for everything he does here at CrossFit Fairway Park.

Running a gym is a strange kind of work. The lights come on before most people are awake, the doors need to be opened, the music needs to play, and somewhere in the middle of it all, people arrive carrying the weight of their day and trusting us to help make them stronger.

And on the days when I cannot be here, Coach John is there.

He opens the gym. He coaches the classes. He welcomes new faces. He puts together events and celebrations. He gives people a place to come when they need the gym most.

Over the years, CrossFit Fairway Park has become more than four walls and a room full of equipment. It has become a community, and communities are not built by one person alone.

They are built by people willing to show up.

Coach John has shown up again and again.

He has gone above and beyond for this gym, our members, and for me personally. The time he gives allows me to step away when my body needs rest, spend time with my family, take my son camping, and still know that the people inside these walls are being taken care of.

That kind of loyalty is not something I take lightly.

So thank you, Coach John. For opening the doors. For carrying the load. For caring about these people as much as you do.

This gym is better because you’re here. ā¤ļøšŸ’Ŗ

The kids who learn to love fitness early are the ones who have a better chance of carrying those healthy habits into adulthood. šŸ’Ŗ

That’s why we believe teaching kids how to move, exercise, and enjoy being active is so important. The goal isn’t just to help them become better athletes today…it’s to give them habits they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Strong kids. Healthy habits. A stronger future. ā¤ļø

Lifting heavy is part of getting stronger. šŸ’Ŗ

At CrossFit Fairway Park, we don’t just lift heavy for the sake of it. We build up over time, practice good technique, and progressively add weight as our strength improves.

That’s how strength is built…one rep, one workout, and one pound at a time.

Watching our members deadlift heavy is a reminder of how far consistent training can take you. Keep showing up and keep getting stronger! šŸ”„

The secret to getting stronger for your high school sport is simple: don’t stop lifting. šŸ’Ŗ

One of the biggest mistakes I see is kids training consistently for a month or two, making some progress, and then taking a long break. Strength takes time to build…and when you stop training, you slowly lose the progress you worked so hard to earn.

The best results come from consistency… showing up, practicing the major compound movements, and gradually challenging yourself with progressive overload over time.

I’m proud of our member Armando for not letting a busy school schedule become an excuse. As his afternoons became filled with school and other responsibilities, he made a sacrifice…he started waking up early a few days each week to train before school.

That kind of consistency is what separates short term progress from long term results.

Way to go, Armando! Keep showing up. šŸ‘šŸ”„

Semi-private family personal training with the Longmans! šŸ’Ŗā¤ļø

Apparently, the girls lost a bet during a board game, and the parents decided their ā€œprizeā€ would be a family workout. šŸ˜‚

Honestly, it turned out to be a pretty great way to pay up! There’s something special about watching kids experience the same fun and joy of fitness that we enjoy as adults.

Family workouts create memories, build healthy habits, and show kids that exercise doesn’t have to feel like a chore. It can be something you do together.

Who knew losing a board game could be so good for you? šŸ˜…

šŸ•Šļø Sunday Message

Bible Verse: Matthew 28:19–20

ā€œTherefore go and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.ā€

Tonight’s verse comes from the very end of the book of Matthew. These are some of the last words Jesus spoke before returning to heaven.

He tells His followers to go.

Not to sit.
Not to wait.
Not to be comfortable.

He says, go and make disciples.

I think that’s a great reminder for all of us because faith was never meant to stay inside the walls of a church. It’s meant to be lived out every day.

The same is true in fitness.

The hour we spend in this gym is important, but it’s only a small part of the week.

The real challenge is what happens after we leave.

Do we continue making healthy choices?
Do we encourage the people around us?
Do we live with integrity at work and at home?

The habits we build here should carry into the rest of our lives.

Jesus also ends with an incredible promise:

ā€˜I am with you always.’

That means when life is hard…
When you’re tired…
When you’re discouraged…
When you feel like you’re carrying a heavy load…

You’re not carrying it alone.

So tonight, don’t just train to become stronger in this room.

Train to become someone who makes a difference everywhere you go.

Carry your faith with you just like you carry your discipline.
