We offer Aikido for adults, youth, and families, along with additional programs for those interested. Check us out at www.AikidoofNorthwestKansas.com!

Aikido of Northwest Kansas is a school devoted to challenging individuals to handle conflict as active peace-makers, to break free from that which binds them, to live their lives to the fullest each day, and to be aware of their effect on the community around them. We offer traditional martial arts training in Aikido (for youth, adults, and families). Our school has a summer term, a fall-to-winter

July 11-15 Summer Camp
Summer Camp is an excellent training experience for our own dojo students and for guests from other associations and other arts who wish to join in some intensive Aikido training. Anyone may attend any session they want and get benefits from the training, but the camp does progress over the week as we work through our testing curriculum (including the supplemental materials for the appropriate kyu rank), so attending back to back sessions may yield better results. *Our students who are in the kids curriculum who have not earned at least an orange belt are allowed to participate, but they must first obtain instructor permission and may be asked to only attend limited portions of camp.
Our camps have historically been free, and it is still our wish that anyone who is not attending due to finances come anyway and pay $0. As such, the suggested camp fee is $20 per half-day, $30 per full day, or $100 for the whole 5 days, but anyone may pay less (including $0) for any reason. Suggested camp fee for regular dojo members is $10 per half-day, $15 per full day, or $50 for the full 5 days. People can also potentially stay in Nimz Sensei's basement for free with advance notice if space is still available.

Announcements and Events: June 2026
(Full Schedule available here at http://aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com/services/)

Summer Schedule Changes Effective June 1
We are shifting the Shurite study group to request only–ask Sensei if you want to join as there will not be a set time over the summer; we will do the same for the Internal Power Study Group–though those practices will also continue to show up in regular classes, if you want to join other sessions, ask Sensei. Sword and Shield moves to Mondays after Family Weapons and becomes every week, and Regional Aikido (Zoom and in-person) will shift to starting after Sword and Shield on Mondays. All other classes stay the same.

June 11 no Aikido due to National Instructor’s Seminar in Chicago

June 21 Sword and Shield Fight Practice–Wichita Fighters training with us in Hays 12:30PM
We will be meeting with the SCA marshal from Wichita along with many of their regular fighters to train. We tentatively plan to train at the Arc Park near the shaded Pavilion, though the Pavilion itself is reserved (so look for armor and people swinging sticks nearby).
