The Lady Eagles Tennis team improved to 4-0 on the season following a 6-0 victory at Hannah Pamplico.

The team secured the overall win when GG Lyons won the deciding match in dramatic fashion. After trailing 1-4, she rallied to win the first set 7-6 and closed out the second set 6-3. Madeline Kemper and the doubles team of Lillian Sheehan and Sam Senthil also earned victories to complete the 6-0 sweep.

The Lady Eagles secured their third straight match win with a dramatic victory against East Clarendon on Thursday night.

After wins at #1 and #3 singles by Amelia Flippin and GG Lyons, the score was tied 2-2. The match came down to the final courts: our doubles team, Amanatou Gadjiko and Olivia Xu, dropped their first set 1-6, while Madeline Kemper lost her first set 0-6.

Demonstrating incredible determination, Madeline fought back to win the next two sets, giving the Eagles a 3-2 lead. The doubles team then rallied to win a third-set tiebreaker to seal the overall victory.

The Lady Eagles tennis team is off to a great 2-0 start this season!

Last Wednesday, the team secured a 6-0 victory against the Cheraw Braves.

Singles:

- Amelia Flippin won 6-0, 6-1
- Tejal Guntuboyina won 6-1, 6-2
- GG Lyons won 6-0, 6-2
- Shrina Patel won 6-1, 6-1
- Madeline Kemper won 6-0, 6-0

Doubles:

Last night, the Eagles continued their winning streak with a 5-1 victory over the Manning Monarchs. Tejal Guntuboyina fought hard in a match lasting over two hours, showing great determination, and looks forward to a rematch in early October.

Congrats to our swim teams!

Govies had their best meet of the season last night. Out of the ten teams competing GSSM placed 2nd in the girls and 3rd in boys.

Both girls relays took first place
200 Medley: Lillian Madsen , Paige Leighty, Madi Bigham and Maddie Smith
200 free: Tanishka Argawal, Paige Leighty, Madi Bigham and Maddie Smith

Both boys relays placed second
200 Medley and 200 Free: Chris Jackson, William Bao, Sri Ramineni, Max Brooks

Individually, Paige Leighty was our highest scorer winning the 100 free and placing 2nd in the 50 free. Both swims were automatic state cuts.

On the boys side Chris Jackson was 2nd in the 200 free and Max Brooks also 2nd in 200 IM.
