“Heal from trauma”
“All you need is…”
“You’re not chronically ill, you just haven’t processed your emotions”

The bu****it headlines practitioners use to hook people into purchasing their services, retreats and programs. Don’t let anyone else tell you what YOU need.
Ask questions, do research, check credentials, and reviews.

Wellness isn’t a one size fits all! Yes, a yoga class might help you feel balanced and calm on a Sunday afternoon, but what happens when Monday rolls around and you’re back in a stressful environment?
This is where maintenance practices come in. And often times it’s simple tools that you can already access yourself for free!

What can you do daily to maintain regulation in your nervous system? What about weekly or monthly?

The point of this post is to encourage people to take their power back in their wellness. If you want to go to therapy, seek medical intervention, go to yoga, see a nutritionist, etc. do that! Trust that you know what’s best for YOU!

Mid year reflections…
I’m reminding myself of my word for the year and also finding evidence in my external world of EXPANSION!
In the history of yoga there is a natural evolution of focusing on external ritual, then internal inquiry.
My life too has evolved in this way. The year started with a lot of internal inquiry and planning.
Now the expansion is visible externally (new place, new opportunities, new connections, wealth, new career path).

To say we’ve been through it is an understatement.
But for the last 15 years I have not fully chosen myself.
My truest goals and desires always ended up morphed, bent, altered in some way to please others.
I used to tell myself that I’ll get to do what I want for me once everyone else has reached their goals, then I’d get to have a turn.
That did not serve me. I just got to watch others get ahead while I stayed back going on plan b, c, d and settling for less.
This season has brought me so much clarity about what I want for ME! The me without all the titles of the roles I play. Me as an individual!
While the decision to get here has been heart wrenching, I’m excited about what I get to do next. I truly feel like my 20 yro self again who had these goals and dreams. I’ll carry her drive, motivation, and heartfelt desire into this next phase. I truly owe it to her to make it happen!
