Offering picturesque 14-Station Sporting Clays Course, Indoor/Heated 5-Stand, Trap, S***t, Crazy Quail, and Clay COOP - 8 traps. Northern Michigan's premier clay shooting sports venue for all level shooters. Emmet Clay Sports is a non-profit, member run, Club that is open to the public. As such, please check our website calendar, our page, or Google profile for Open Hours, as they due change throughout the course of the year. Situated on 95 acres of rolling hardwood forest in the beautiful Northwest Lower Peninsula, members and guests can enjoy S***t, Trap, Indoor/Heated 5-Stand, Crazy Quail, and our picturesque 14-station Sporting Clays Course. Our well-appointed clubhouse includes a modern a fireplace and lounge, kitchen with refreshments, restroom, gun cleaning station, and front desk for rentals and merchandise purchases. Gun rentals, with completion of waiver, and ammunition purchases, for use at the Club, are also available at our front counter. Cart rentals are available to traverse our 1.25 mile, upland terrain, Sporting Clays Course. Emmet Clay Sports offers membership packages for discounted clays, ammunition, and cart rentals. September continues to be a busy month for Group Outings at Emmet Clay Sports. Please check the Club's Google Calendar before coming out to shoot.

Thank you to ONEOK (9/16) and InnoServ (9/17) for bringing your teams out to enjoy our beautiful Sporting Clays Course.

Following their Welcome and Safety Briefing by Club Range Safety Officer, J.T. Charles, the groups head out to the Sporting Clays course to give it their best shot.

We also extend our thanks to all our members for their cooperation in scheduling their shooting around these group outings.

The next scheduled Group Outings are;

9/24 Friday Morning, Greenleaf Trust is holding a client event. They will be shooting the Sporting Clays Course and having lunch in the clubhouse. All carts reserved. beginning @10 a.m.

9/25, Saturday morning, Lake Area Collision will have an employee outing shooting 5-Stand, Trap, and S***t.

MI DNR Hunter Safety Field Day 9/19

On Saturday, September 19th, Harbor Springs Outdoors Club hosted over 45 students for the second of three MI DNR Hunter Safety Field Days, led by Ryan & Becky McRae, HSOC. Northern Michigan District 3 Conservation Officer (CO), Duane Budreau welcomed all students and provided an overview of the importance of Hunter Safety in Michigan.

Special Thanks to Tipp of the Mitt Whitetails for donating safety vests for all students.

Emmet Clay Sports provided the shotgun safety portion of the Hunter Education certification. MI DNR certified Volunteer Recreational Safety Instructors, Robert Lechtanski and Kathleen Blust, assisted by Tena Lechtanski and ECS Range Safety Officer J.T. Charles, reviewed Firearm Safety Rules, types of shotguns, shotgun parts & mechanics, shotgun ammunition types, safe handling, shooting fundamentals, and safe zones of fire.

Following the safety portion, students took their turn shooting 20 GA over/under shotguns at an outgoing clay target.

Upon completion of the course, and to further practice the skills learned, all students received a Shooting Voucher valid for one (1) free 25 Clay Round of S***t, Trap, or 5-Stand Shooting compliments of Emmet Clay Sports. In addition, vouchers included a 25-shell box of 12 or 20 GA ammunition compliments of the Baiardi Foundation.

Congratulations to all students on successfully passing their Hunter Education Certification.

Saturday, 9/12 10 a.m. - MEMBER ORIENTATION COURSE

With the discontinuation of the Shooting During Unopened Times course, all new members are required to attend the Member Orientation course to have the privilege of shooting at Club during closed/unstaffed hours.

Any new member who has not attended the course, and who desires to shoot during closed hours, should send an email to [email protected] to confirm attendance at this course.

This is a requirement for new members, but ALL members are welcome to attend to learn new procedures.

Another GREAT DAY at Emmet Clay Sports!!

Today we had the honor of hosting not one, but two bachelor group outings.

In the morning, Nick D**g and his "Honey Club" groomsmen crew hit the 5-Stand course to give it their best shot. Hats off to all as they steadily improved throughout the morning. While Groom-to-be, Nick, took to breaking clays like a fish to water, the Most Improved award hands down goes to Henry! WAY TO GO HENRY!

In the afternoon, host Brendhain Reid brought Jordan Shepard and his friends out to take their crack at the 5-Stand course. Like the morning shoot, all shooters steadily improved throughout the afternoon. MVP award goes to Jordan. Not only was he breaking clays, but never shied away from taking a crack at a TRUE Pair!

On behalf of Dave, Julie, Stephen, J.T., Randy, and Bill, we had a great time with all of you and look forward to your return.
