We’re looking back at all the colorful fun from last year’s Rainbow Run 5K
From bright bursts of color to smiling faces crossing the finish line, this event is all about celebrating community, movement, and fun for all ages!

Join us this Saturday, June 27, from 9:00 AM–11:00 AM for this year’s Rainbow Run 5K! Whether you’re ready to lace up and run, walk with friends and family, or simply come out and enjoy the festivities at the museum, there’s a place for everyone. Keep an eye on A Time for Science’s socials on how to sign up, and get ready to add a little more color to your weekend!

Last week, Ce’Nedra had the opportunity to represent Play Greenville, NC Sports and the Greenville-Pitt County area at the Summer Sports Business Conference in Corpus Christi, TX hosted by Compete Sports Network.

⚾️ Facility Friday: Thomas Foreman Park & Eppes Recreation Center

This week’s Facility Friday spotlight shines on Thomas Foreman Park, a cornerstone of recreation and community life in West Greenville. Home to the Eppes Recreation Center, the park serves as a hub for athletics, wellness, youth programming, and community events, offering residents of all ages a place to gather, learn, and stay active.

The Eppes Recreation Center stands on the historic site of C.M. Eppes High School, which served as the primary public high school for African American students in Greenville and Pitt County during segregation. For generations, the school was a source of education, leadership, pride, and community, shaping countless lives throughout the region. Today, the recreation center carries that legacy forward by continuing to serve as a gathering place where neighbors connect, youth develop new skills, and families build community.

From recreation programs and fitness opportunities to sports leagues and special events, Thomas Foreman Park and the Eppes Recreation Center remain an important part of Greenville’s story, honoring the past while creating opportunities for future generations.

This week’s Facility Friday spotlight shines on Guy Smith Stadium & Park, one of Greenville’s premier baseball destinations and the home of the Greenville Yard Gnomes. Since opening in 1939, the stadium has played an important role in Greenville’s rich baseball history, serving as the longtime home of the legendary Greenville Greenies, who brought professional baseball to the city for decades. Today, recent renovations have helped preserve that legacy while adding modern amenities, making Guy Smith Stadium a premier venue for youth, amateur, collegiate, and summer collegiate baseball in Greenville.

Bringing together sports organizers, destinations, and industry partners from across the country, the conference is focused on building relationships, creating new business opportunities, and advancing the mission of “Sports For All™.”

She’s looking forward to connecting with sports event planners, sharing what Greenville-Pitt County has to offer as a sports destination, and exploring new opportunities to bring events to Eastern North Carolina.
