It’s a big week for girls flag football in North Carolina! 🏈

The inaugural season of NCHSAA-sanctioned girls flag football is officially underway. It’s an exciting new chapter for a sport that continues to grow across the state.

What began with just 19 participating schools in 2022 has grown to more than 150 schools across North Carolina.

We’ve had a front-row seat to that growth here in Eastern North Carolina. Over the past two years, girls flag football has taken the field at high schools across our region and right here in Pitt County.

As the first official season gets underway, we’re excited to celebrate how far the game has come and the opportunities ahead for female athletes in our community and across the state.

Here’s to the inaugural season and the continued growth of girls flag football! 🏈

Here is what Ce’Nedra had to say about her trip:
“Another great Connect Marketplace! I loved reconnecting with clients, making new connections, and sharing the exciting growth happening in sports tourism in Greenville-Pitt County.
I was especially excited to have Sophie and Heather from City of Greenville Recreation and Parks with me, giving us the opportunity to tell the bigger story of how we’re working together to grow sports tourism and create even more opportunities for athletes, families, and event organizers.”
