1963 Harlem Globetrotters Yearbook, cover illustration by legendary sports cartoonist Willard Mullin.

Mullin’s signature is seen at bottom right. When doing baseball illustrations, Mullin often “hid” his signature in blades of grass.

On this date in 1906 (or possibly 1903, or perhaps 1905 or maybe even 1908…) baseball legend Leroy “Satchel” Paige was born in Mobile, Alabama.
