Teacher Feature: Pete ✨

Our theme this month is consistency, and Liz chose a teacher who has been consistently part of our school since he first started attending classes back at North Main.

Pete became such a regular at our Tuesday and Thursday 7:15pm class that after completing his YTT, he became the regular teacher. He’s been part of our schedule ever since.

What Liz loves about Pete is his love of each of you. He’s not only a devoted teacher, he also comes and takes class from our teachers. You’ll see him slowly moving and breathing beside you throughout the week.

He first came to yoga in 2009 after an ankle injury kept him from the walking and hiking he loved. He wasn’t sure yoga was for him, but his wife encouraged him to give it a try. What started as a once a week practice gradually became 4 or 5 days a week.

Over the years, yoga has helped him become calmer and kinder, get out of his own head, connect with others and find his way back to balance.

Read more of Pete’s story in this month’s newsletter through the link in our bio. 💛

🍁 Happening Today 🍁

As summer fades into fall, we naturally start to turn inward. The days get quieter, the leaves begin to fall, and we start to notice what we’re ready to let go of.

What are you ready to let go of?
What are you ready to make space for?

This afternoon, Hanna will lead Autumn Yin: Reflect & Release. 😌 A deeply nourishing yin practice that honors the energy of autumn. Poses will target the lung and large intestine meridians, which are associated with fall in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

We’d love for you to join us and settle into longer-held poses, stillness, and patience as you reflect on the year and give yourself some quiet space to listen inward. 💫

We had a full house last night for Friday Unwind, led by the lovely Liz Lawrence Delaney. ✨

She guided us through a beautiful yin practice, and you could feel the whole room exhale. Longer, supported holds invited us into stillness and quietude. A little more space to soften, settle, and simply be. 😌

And then we stayed awhile.

We laid out a blanket under the stars, surrounded by our twinkly lights, and watched the full moon rise into the sky.

We love spending these moments slowing down and spending time with our community. 💛

Thank you to everyone who came out and made the evening oh so special!

We had so much fun hosting a private yoga class for Girls Who Hike SC! 🌿

When Heather reached out, she wanted an all levels class where everyone could feel welcome, from someone brand new to yoga to an experienced practitioner, with a focus on how yoga can support hiking.

Blake, our studio manager and lovely yoga teacher, was the perfect person to lead them! An avid hiker herself, she has completed both the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail, and she shared from her own experience how yoga supports time spent on the trail.

We love when our community connections bring people together in ways that feel this natural. ✨

Girls Who Hike SC is a community of more than 30,000 members bringing women together to connect, explore, and support one another through hiking and the outdoors. If that sounds like your kind of community, check them out at Girls Who Hike South Carolina!

If you’re interested in booking a private yoga class for your group? Reach out to Blake at [email protected]. 💛

A little reminder to save some time to enjoy Rain’s Garden. 🌿

If you’re coming to class, give yourself a few extra minutes to sit with a friend or take a little time for yourself.

Take a swing, settle into one of our garden seats, have a snack at the picnic tables, or stretch out in the grass for a while.

Leave a little room in your day to simply be.
