Some kids walk in and won't even look us in the eye. Arms crossed, standing behind mom's leg, whispering. And we get it. New places can be scary.

But I'm telling you — give us a little time.

Something happens when a shy kid realizes nobody in this room is going to laugh at them. Nobody's going to make them feel small for trying. They start to realize this is a place where they're SAFE to be seen. And once that shyness starts to crack, it doesn't just crack a little. It falls all the way off.

That's a kid learning who they are in a space that celebrates them instead of judging them.
