The sea of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, (HBCU's) school colors, the loud chants of old school & new school alumni's the distance, the visual spectacle of the bands and cheerleaders, the smell of BBQ's at the tailgate; the HBCU “Classics” have come to a hault because of COVID-19.
Late September is the "Family Reunion" of the HBCU football season. This year has shown us how resilient HBCU's are in continuing traditions and expanding their influence in the communities they serve.
In the Carolina's, WSSU & NCCU are squaring off to do the biggest virtual party fund-raising event for the foundations with HBCUniversus, the HBCUBuzz.com's HBCU Virtual college fair, and other "socially-distanced" events have been planned in the mist of the pandemic.
Bankshot Basketball has accepted the challenge in raising funds for HBCU's with the "$20,000 HBCU Classic"!
